I got a buck that says you sit in ground defense when you command and got it that way (with arty kills counting as your kills IAR)

I have vet, i'm not about to waste any more hrs of my life in ground defense.
And your point is? If you are commander, you are doing yourself a disservice if you are not on a weapon or in a vehicle. If you are going to spend the entire round in command view (as you should) you might as well rack up time towards one of the award requirements while you're at it. Yes, it's kind of cheap when someone get the kills for a particular weapon or kit with arty kills, but it is what it is.GoalieLax wrote:

I would be really impressed if anyone got this legitamitly. I guess my strategy going for vet ground defense will be find the best tow location in the game on a map with plenty of APC's. I'm thinking dragon valley at the wood shack or whatever its called (PLA chopper spawn). If you get lucky you can hit an APC with 4-5 people in it, stick around and defend that flag and 10 IAR seems possible....I dont know about 20....
Hopefully get a few humvee and dpv kills too, maybe 1-2 from mounted MG's and it shouldnt be impossible. I guarantee I'll never get expert though

Oi. Almost a year old thread.
Anyway, I got my GD on Wake. I was USMC and we took airfield. PLA had beach, and naturally they wanted airfield back. I just sat in one of the guard towers facing the beach and opened fire. I think I ended up with like 40 kills on that thing alone.
As for Air defense, just go on Kubra. Sit in a linebacker as support. Give yourself ammo. There are a TON of helicopters on that map, plus two jets per side. 20 kills is a breeze.

Got mine on Jalalabad, thank god for the USMC just trying to rush for the outpost in tanks/FAV/Hummers
its incredibly easy to get if you sit on a tow on sharqi. my record is 25 kills IAR with the tow on that map.
I have both Expert Air Defense and Expert Ground Defense. Good ol' Commander Arty pre-1.4!

Yep got got my veteran badges in air/ground the legit way.... The expert ones...... commander. 30 Kills in an AA.... yeh, unless the J-10 pilot sucks and just keeps coming at you, this one is pretty tough.

Yeah theres some good tow locations on sharqi, I've been playing that alot lately. Which one in particular, the surveillance post one? I like that one because you have a good view down 2 roads. Hotel TOW is good too, and the one by MEC tank spawn is OK if you get a noob tank driver. I should just get a humvee and fly around to different flags my team has and use the "safe" tows while I can. Maybe I'll get lucky and nail a vodnik with a whole squad in it.Kamikaze17 wrote:

Expert, got it at tv station as mec... it was like an endless wave coming up those stairs.

I think its 20 IAR now for expert air defense. J-10's are probably the hardest to shoot down, though still possible. I would try a map like gulf on MEC side, and aim for F35's and loaded blackhawks from the various stingers all over the map. Attack choppers are usually a guaranteed 2 kills, blackhawks its fukking annoying when you only get 1 kill=4th=vsujohn wrote:

But I would still make them my target. One day I'll go for all these badges, I have some more important ones to get first though. Its possible to get expert in an essex but you would have to be on a server that encourages baserape. I think it would be too hard, how many loaded transport choppers fly out to the essex? Once in a blue moon you'll get a whole squad to come blow assets and steal equipment, but I would focus on stingers, or better yet the mobile AA units.
hi kkookie, i remember you from the moongamers oman server. anyway, i got my expert air defense and ground defense in one sitting being a chinaman commander on wake, the day that 1.3 came out. i was a 2nd Lt i believe.
