any suggestions on landing the bigger planes?
Just ease down gently and land with your your rear wheels first. Your front will then come down gently and you can taxi to your designated area. It takes a while to get used to and you might find yourself not able to actually land on the runway for a bit with this technique - but once you master it, it is much better.

Also, watch your sink-rate and try and keep the air lights on 2 red and 2 white! as the old saying goes:

If the lights are white, you'll fly all night.
If the lights are red, you'll be dead.

To brake your plane you can turn the engine to reverse
You'll break in a matter of seconds

Yeeeeees, that's what real pilots do...it's why there's a reverse setting on the engines...

And wheel brakes. Don't forget the wheel brakes. And spoilers. Can't forget air brakes.

How can you make the plane crash and blow up? Mine just hit the ground and bounce up, it really sucks.

Search on the internet. There's instructions t give realistic damage as well as files to download to cause realistic ones.

FSX is the first FS game i have played in YEARS! Can i download any real world airline skins for these planes? I hate the fake ones... I downloaded a Boeing 757 but there is no virtual cockpit so its like impossible to fly....

I'm off from DIA to DFW right now.... gonna try flying cross state lines!!

In this game is there any... random malfunctions that happen wile flying like say one of your engines cuts out and you have to land at a closer air port or a lightning strike and your forced to ditch in the ocean?

You can set it up to have random failures on nearly any system.  Cant land in oceans, you just crash, although on another flight sim I have you can land a 747 in the ocean, and then take off again

Not entirely true. Download some stuff and edit some files, and you can have real crashes, like me!

I actually find landing easier than taking off in a jet because I nearly always go over 250Knots when concentrating on everything else. Whereas landing you just put flaps down at the right speed and as long as you get the glideslope and heading right then you're set.

Yeah, i'm still having problems landing, i made the aspen to DIA flight, had trouble going into DFW last night, it was just about sundown, overshot the runway a few times and hand trouble ligning back up for re-approach, i'll get it tonight.

That's simple. Just turn on autothrottle, set a max speed on the autopilot console, and let the autopilot do the rest. Allows you to keep an eye on other things, such as heading and altitude.

Pfft, good luck with that.

You guys actually have joysticks and throttles, try handling a fully loaded 747 with your keyboard only.

This is my typical turn (when I decide not to use autopilot):
*press 6 key*...*press 6 key*...*press 6 key*...

"TURN GODDAMMIT!"

*hold 6 key*

*747 goes into unstoppable roll, stalls out, and crashes*

Yeah see, I don't have the endurance to fully fly those flights. I tend to leave from an airport of my fancy, look at the scenery, then choose a new plane, and a new airport.

I am convinced that people do not actually fly those flights in REAL TIME. I'm sure everyone must at least speed it up because you don't miss anything once you're cruising.
