Environment is environment.
Don't cry about the planet having a fever when you are part of the virus that doesn't give a shit about other life forms that share it.

It was his choice to be a public figure.  It was his choice to come back and beg for attention.  This is what he gets.  You look at it black and white Bert.  For him, it is related.
I can't see how, they are totally independent issues.

Although I should emphasise again that I do think he's a hypocrite for his outrageous energy consumption. It seems like a problem he is genuinely concerned about - but happy for everyone else to deal with, as though telling people about the issue is his only responsibility (that's my opinion anyway).

No, it isn't.

A species of fish dying out will not significantly affect peoples day to day lives, the potential consequences of climate change could have a tremendous impact on peoples lives.

Can you not see how the issues are unrelated? It is not a case of environment is environment, that's like saying science is science - there are different fields. One does not have to endorse all to support one.

Why?

It's the same as criticising someone who has strong negative views about something like ESCR, but has an experimental heart proceedure. The two things both lie under the broad umbrella of medicine, but the fields are totally unrelated and being critical of one should not have any bearing on the individual taking advantage of the other.

I have never heard Gore speak out about animal preservation (except in the context of species dying due to global warming to illustrate points), if he has done so, then I completely retract my statement - but if this is supposed to reflect badly on him because of his views on global warming, I find that ridiculous.

Chilean Sea Bass is not an endangered species.  http://www.state.gov/g/oes/rls/fs/2002/8989.htm

While the majority of Chilean Sea Bass is poached and/or harvested illegally, it doesn't mean that they're an endangered species.

Apparently you forget that Al Gore was critical of the Bush administration for not taking more action against Iraq during the years we were enforcing the no fly zones and no cooperation from Hussein to verify what EVERYBODY thought Hussein was hiding. Everybody has an extremely short, close minded memory. Gore was actually pushing for war before 9/11. If he had become president we would have gone to war in Iraq as well...no difference!!.

He would have gotten the same intel from the same Iraqi foreign nationals and same CIA, the same photos and we would be there. Again, he CRITICIZED Bush in televised debates about the LACK of military action against Iraq over the stalemate that was going on between the UN and Iraq. Who cares about whether Bush or Gore won by whatever amount of votes....the same result was coming in regards to war. PERIOD!!!!!!!!! Gore was ready for war, pushed for it and 9/11 would have triggered him as well.......

What a moron. All his crying about the environment and now this.

He should be laughed out of society, but instead you still have people saying he should be president.
Amazing.

The Daily Telegraph? Therefore it must be true.

Are you sure that it is an endangered species? Are you sure there aren't legal channels to obtain this specific fish? Are you sure that the fish he ate was even obtained illegally - and constitutes a threat to the species? Are you sure that your "not all there" gut instincts are even remotely right?

Most people have probably eaten at least one type of fish while it was on a real endangered species list anyway. It's not a big deal.

Enough about the fish...ATG brought it up because he is making a point about hypocrisy. I don't care if he ate a turtle's balls, he is a giant hypocrite that says what he needs to say to keep his image and power. He is using a VERY popular cause like a leech to blood. Gore jumps on whatever is popular and whatever the bandwagon it touting today. But Gore is not alone...name me one politician that doesn't do that.

Now, what pisses me off more than anything is that we have soldiers in harms way and we have democrats putting politics before protection because they want to embarrass the Republican party. Today, McCain came out of the current marathon debate extremely upset that physical support for our troops is being blocked by the Democrats because of politics. They are even blocking a new vehicle that can withstand the new types of IED's being used today. I don't know the name of the vehicle but I did see it in action/ testing.

Now, at this point, I don't care how we got there but the soldiers in Iraq should not be used as pawns for political gains by ANY party. But that is what the Democrats are doing. They are holding hostage the material need to protect our troops in order to win political points. Okay, you want a pull-out...FINE....but don't risk my brother, my father, my uncle or a woman in the same position because you want to beat the your opposition back here in the U.S........POLITICIANS SUCK!!!!
