This is exactly what I mean. When you first start off, getting a higher rank or that next badge is incentive. It keeps you interested in the game and gives you a sense of accomplishment, though you might get killed more than you kill.

When I first started playing, I died alot and was using the Anti-tank kit. I got burned out real quick and stop playing for about a year. Then I came back and started up...this time trying different weapons, kits and playing the expansions. I started to improve a lot and the stats were telling me where I was improving and by how much. I dont play to match my stats with other people. I was playing, basically against myself and my own numbers and I improved quite a bit. Now, I am no means as good as a lot of people here but I can my own against most and stats did help push me along to help me improve. In the beginning I didnt care and because I didnt care, I left the game. When I came back, I paid more attention to what I was doing and the stats became a part of that.

Lastly, EA, gamespy, DICE, or whoever, needs to chime in and give the people who paid for this damn game some kind of time frame as to when this problem will be resolved. I went on EA.com to see if there was any news, and the last news update they posted on the BF2 page was back in 2006. Slow down guys, don't work yourselves too hard.

DICE and GameSpy are continuing to work on the problem. Since the problem is not affecting all servers, it is much more difficult to locate the cause of the problem than it would be if every server was affected. A majority of servers continue to report the normal number of rounds to our stat server and quite a few players remain unaffected by the stats loss. We obviously want to get the problem fixed as soon as possible, and will be working on this through the weekend.

I went now on the server "high scoring [arse]" 193.238.84.68:16567 and it updated my stats.

I think not all stats have been updated --> maybe they are gone..

thanx for the nfo but its all been said before........... the problem with these select few servers that work is that now that its out there all hacking programes, aka nobs head to the server to earn there points in a non fair manor.. so even if you did play on it likley your kd ratio will suck and not have as nearley as many point like 200 per round wich is what there racking, it is also shocking that this will go unoticed

I just called EA and talked to a tech.  He took my EA login and my soldier name and verified the account was valid.  He then asked me exactly how many global points I was missing and if I was missing anything else... odd.  He added me to a "list" of soldiers with this problem, apparently to validate any stats problems.  I asked if this was a client issue and if re-patching would help and he said no, it was server side.  He had no ETA and just assured me they were working on the problem.  HOWEVER, he did tell me I WILL NOT loose any points earned and that they would be accounted for.  I suggest calling in.  It only took 10min, phone (650)628-1005 for the US.

Again, please try calling and probe around while conversing.  See if they are uniform with the reply.  In addition, EA will be creating tons of open service tickets for all of the phone calls, putting even more pressure on them to provide a community update/answer.

Ok about all the news.........but.........the stats servers are up?????........the problem is solved!!!!!

Yea I called them and got nowhere fast. The agent checked my account and said "well you submitted a ticket for this already sir" and I replied yes sir. I asked for a time frame of when the problem will be fixed and this agent could not comment on the situation at all. He also could not comment on the loss of stats and had no friggin idea if my points from 6-14 to the present will be lost.


So 2 phone calls ,2 agents and 2 different answers! lol

Sounds like EA.......

Stop phoning EA and bothering them. You are just making the situation worse, EA is working on a fix, and if they get thousands of calls screaming ZOMG MY STATS ARE NOT UPDATING It will just delay everything more.

I certainly hope that calling EA will not "delay everything more" , I sure as hell hope that the people who answer the phone calls aren't taking a break from programming! Geez! Does everyone else agree?! Programmers don't answer the customer service lines. Let's all call and let the powers that be know that this game will be played long into the future and to keep the stats keeper up and running!

I called.  EA Rep sounded concerned, as he should be...
I own 6 copies of BF2 for friends/family/clan. I have supported EA since 1980 - Commodore 64!

He gave me a reference # right off the bat....
I told rep my soldier info... Date & time bf2s.com stats stopped tracking stat info.
He wanted to know where I play at.  I loaded BF2 and told him my Favorite Servers.
He gave me the same reply as above post.  He asked how many medals I was losing, etc, etc...

I told him I am a 3 star Lt. General & I pwned all the servers I play at, thus the crash!!! lol!
This guy could hardly speak fluent English, so I was having fun with him & he then chuckled.

IMHO, I think the questioning was more along the lines of info gathering for EA.

BUT MORE TO THE POINT OF WHY I REGISTERED TO POST:

I then asked what the stat outlook would be like for me to continue playing... like tonight, tomorrow, etc.
(i.e., Will my freaking points count?)

I asked were the points in the cache and not transmitting to GaymeSpy...  He claims the points will be there!

alot of the ranked UK servers seem to be issuing points... maybe its a US side problem for ranked servers.  ive been playing on UK servers yesterday and today and gettin pts.  i say play on the UK servers, if you dont mind having a ping over 100 for a little bit.
