Bonjour,

Observe below: new, random signatouir from messing around in fireworks.

Problemo numero uno: The file type of this image is PNG (default fireworks file format) which is larger than forum rules to use as a sig (174kb)

I had to change the file format to GIF in order to get it a suitable size....

HOWEVER

If you look closely (problemo numero ....TWO): the background colour is slightly off the colour of the forum :\

Is there any way I can sort this out still keeping the file size <150kb?

Easy, instead of having it as a transparent background, printscreent the forum color and use the "eye drop" tool to extract the color and apply it as your background

well thats what i do in PS, should be the same

and then save it as a JPEG

The background color is #383838 or R:56 B:56 G:56.

Use File->Save As.. select jpeg?
Or exactly how to with a .zip tutorial... Can't imagine how many steps are involved...

Edit: Is FireWorks done now that Adobe bought Macromedia and uses PhotoShop in CS3?

Editx2: Also you copied the code from imageshack which makes the image a link, which links to www.imageshack.us. Go into your profile settings and change the url=www.imageshack.us to url=www.alienware.com or whatever...

That's exactly what I did.....could it be imageshack messing with the quality or the file format?

I just save as .png with transparent, then save as .jpg and it always works for me......(with fireworks)

You can tweak the color usage and reduce the size with the propper tools.
