There is nothing wrong with male babysitters, I babysit for some people I used to live along the road from, have babysitted for them for coming on five to six years now since I was 14 years old. The kids are both boys, 9 and 12 now and it's actually helpful to have a male role-model, (even one such as myself.) I had a male babysitter myself when I was a kid. I've babysitted for four other families in my time too, one family with two girls, another with a boy and a girl. A mate of mine, (male,) also babysits regularly for a family with a boy and two girls.jsnipy wrote:

As for gay babysitters, I see there being no problem. One would have to judge it on a gay-by-gay basis, (har har,) but there is no need to 'protect' your kids from homosexuals. Someone's either gay or they're not, it doesn't 'rub off' on anyone. Homosexuality isn't a disese. The norm here for the age of babysitters is 14-20, and only up to or over 20 if the person who's babysitting has been a regular babysitter since mid-teenagehood. Since most homosexuals don't realise their sexuality at teenagehood, or are at least in the closet, in that age group it probably wouldn't be an issue.

The best recent example I can think of would be the guy that was high up in the administration of the Boy Scouts (sick irony: he was one of the authors of their policy that was supposed to protect kids from molestors in the Scouts and likely responsible for the BSA's stance against openly homosexual men) who turned out to be a pedophile. I have gay friends. Just because they are attracted to other men does not make them kiddy fiddlers ffs. One of them is an excellent baby sitter, communicates really we with my kid and he loves him. Half you ppl are just homophobic, which usually means your secretly insecure with your own sexuality.
