Well, it's a Revell 1/48 A-10, i want to get that gray camo look A-10s have right now... dark gray and a lighter gray.

It can't happen now since it's put together and all.
Negative!! When it is put together is the BEST time to use an airbrush for the camo pattern (Unless, by put together you mean you completely finished it w/ decals and all. And its on your shelf) Otherwise, using really good masking tape for the camo effect works great. And if you have a good airbrush you wont even need the masking tape. If you get good at controlling the pressure and the amount of paint, you can just airbrush on your camo pattern. (It really helps to have a photo in this case)

Man! This thread is really getting me ready to work on models again, but unfortunately my modeling desk is now being used for college studies.

Love the 'ANSWER TO THIS' on the barrel player,  lmao

How do you paint it? airbrush or just a regular small brush?

Sorry should have specified earlier...If it's a can of spray paint (Testors etc), how do you do it? When i sprayed the body of my model, i thought to me that it sprayed pretty wide so i couldn't get just one spot without the paint running...
thnx for the reply's

i airbrushed it with Trestors and Tamiya paint
airbrush i use

H&S evolution silverline

you need to aply the paint fast just go from one side from the models to another side dont start in the middle becouse youll get a overspray point and that looks bad hold the model like 15cm from the airbrush and you should get a perfect layer of paint

P.S. the 'ANSWER TO THIS' was also on the real tank that was with the 3ID,1-64TF during the invasion in Iraq
almost all tanks had something on the barrel

also you guys can take a look at www.armorama.com its arealy good site you can learn much on it

Here's some of my models that I got for my birthday.

This one is not completed but close enough to being so, there's another bunch of guys to go with it and a load of accesories.

This one is completed, it's a Revell packaged kit but is actually a Zvezda kit inside.

Quite jealous really... they look cool, but I know I wouldn't have
  • The patience
  • The money
  • The space

I mean I did Warhammer or whatever for a bit... the Lord of the rings ones i think. So fucking expensive! And I just got bored. I can imagine these ones being much more rewarding when you finish them though.

These are much less expensive than Warhammer, the more expensive models like Tamiya are because theyre the top of the range ones. That bottom one only cost £14.00, and its about 20-25cm long.

I could barely find time to read this thread about models, much less build a model.

I mean, I suppose if I could squeeze something like that in if I gave up drinking and/or golf, but no way in hell either happens.

Academy 1/35 M2A2 Bradley of the United States Army, Baghdad, Iraq 2003. Tamiya rebrand/upgrade.

Italeri 1/48 OA-10A Thunderbolt II of the 52nd Fighter Wing, United States Air Force. PITA to fit the parts together. Not recommended.

Edit: As evident in the A-10 picture, I am not a neat person.

You should see all of mine lol, I've been doing this for a few years now and only recently have I started being neater with my work, the majority of my models are aircraft that aren't completed, this is slowly being taken over by tanks and ground vehicles. My main weakness with models, transfers. When I'm faced with billions of transfers, I just tend to give up, that's why I've come to like ground vehicles more, less transfers.

I use to this when I was ten years old.  I stopped doing it after that.

I think my mom threw away most of my kits.  Don't know where they went.

Now that is exactly why I just pile the waterslide transfers up for eventual sale on eBay, and paint the markings on by hand. It also means I'm not limited to the 'codex' chapters.

Of course, for my Guard (that I will post when I've finished the first couple of squads and found where the HELL I left my digicam), it means I have to make up a symbol for the army as a whole.
Of course, I could just leave it off, since the army's meant to be a bunch of remenants of other regiments banding together and pooling resources in an effort to not be wiped out.

My 1:35 Vietnam Diorama, APC from Tamiya plus the two soldiers. Wanted to make an APC that was been taken out a while ago by an RPG and random gunfire (note: RPG and empty Ak47 in the gras in front of it), 1 soldier holding a beer with an M40 sniper rifle next to him in the rubble from an old MRC 1:35 UH1C Gunship.

Holy shit. Monkey man, is that mocked up with computer graphics or did you do that in real life? Granted, it's just a model, but that's pretty fucking impressive work.

Oh yeah, I looked again. Computer shit. Bunghole  ;-)
