Damn, it looks better than crysis.
Not hard tbh Crysis was a pretty mediocre fps. Far Cry (the original) was cooler.some_random_panda wrote:

Whoa... Can't believe these forums are still kicking.
I always thought Cryiss looked good. But ArmA looks better on high then Crysis (well I can only play it on medium so I don't really know, anybody got a spare 9800GX2 Supercloacked he doesn't want? )some_random_panda wrote:

EDIT: MOAB WTF is that camo that "Marine" is wearing? It's disgraceful. No but isn't that just regular standard cheap woodland?

Never had me posting stuff quite so homoerotic.

It seems to have a similarity to the JGSDF camo in terms of colouration,Bradt3hleader wrote:

If you check on ofp2.info, you can see they've fixed the marpat. It looks more real now. That picture of the marine with the M249 is an old render and not a screen shot.
Gosh i am so looking forward looking to this game. But i know one thing and that is that it's going to disappoint a lot of people here. Who think that this game is like Cod/Battlefield. If you really want to know if you like this game you have to try operation flash point 1 or Arma.
The people posting in this thread don't expect it to be a BF2/CoD4, don't worrybogo24dk wrote:

We will have to see when the game comes out..
The game is really a simulator, much like America's Army, though I've only played that once. The original game was very tactical and took some time to get used to. You could go in guns blazing, but 8/10 times u'd be dead. Cover and concealment were musts when playing as infantry.Flecco wrote:

I have a strong feeling OFP2 is going to be like BF2 meets OFP/ArmA.
It will be good anyway.

K. Red Orchestra was meant to be a fairly realistic representation of the Great Patriotic War between the Soviet Union and the Third Reich. Insurgency is touted as a modern infantry combat simulator based in urban settings of the middle east with the featured belligerents being US armed forces and the titular insurgents.
Both feature gameplay revolving around use of cover, clever positioning and correct flanking to eliminate the enemy from various objectives with attacking and defending teams or just two teams trying to seize the same objectives. Both play fairly similarly with the way weapons handle and the amount of fire an enemy can take before being crippled/killed for infantry combat. RO has vehicles too but I avoided straight up tanker maps and specialised in taking out tanks as infantry in combined arms maps.
Aren't these basically games like ArmA or OpFor with different settings for the conflict and/or lacking air-craft and other vehicles from the game?
Whoa... Can't believe these forums are still kicking.
I've only played Insurgency and ArmA and OFP were more slow paced. They are also based on a large area like a big ass island or some shit like that, with multiple cities. Large scale combatFlecco wrote:

Yeah fair enough. Similar gameplay on larger scale.icecold2510 wrote:

Insurgency is only 'faced paced' because you have people who rush and small, tight maps for the most part.
RO had some larger rural based maps which could be pretty slow if one team really dug in on a point.
