Say the issue of collection of resources (oil, minerals, metals etc) from Antarctica becomes an issue in the near future, either by way of necessity or economics.

What place do you see for current Antarctic treaties and territorial claims?  What sort of conflicts can you see arising?  Could it drasticly alter the balance of power in the world?

You won't be too cold? Or you won't be digging there? Or have you forgotten a 't'?

I guess if they could eventually figure out a way to mine there (bloody freezing conditions) and the isolation then there would be huge money bids for the regions flying around by countries, or mining companies?

I don't really know much about it, i've only been studying mining for 7 weeks. Still learning maths and chem mainly
