I'm going to present to you a tale,a tale you might ask of what? In 1997 Sir Steven Redgrave used "..." to symbolise continuation. Ever since then it has been commonly used by countless people in over 40 different countries.

Why the Junk Drawer is also a question you could ask. I still consider the Junk Drawer the Not BF2 not BF2S section. If this really was a section for Junk topics they wouldn't get closed. People who have been here longer then 6 months would know what i mean.

This thread could be difficult to comprehend, perhaps you're thinking you should go to university and spend several years at University studying Philosophy in the hope you could come back and understand just what I'm talking about. I'll spare you the time simply by adding if you can't understand what I'm going out today,by the second time you have read this. Then you will never understand.

As the late Mel Gibson once said in the film Braveheart.

Mel Gibson wrote:

You can take our lives. But you'll never take, our 3 dots!
Dots, Fulls stops ,Periods ,Triangles. Whatever you call them, it's all the same. It still means you same thing. Even in all languages you can't write ...  In any other way.

It's time for change, this country and others need to open their eyes to the fear and corruption the use of 3 dots bring. Please, for God's/Allah's/Spongebob's sake, make a stand. Some men may die, but at least, they will have truly lived.

I leave the future with you, BF2S members.

First of all

mel gibson wrote:

is grammatically incorrect.
It should either be
You can take our lives. But you'll never take...our 3 dots!
or
You can take our lives. But you'll never take our 3 dots! - comma splice mate, not good.
And he didn't even say that...

And...que?

I could attempt to explain why i found it necessary to use a comma, but the answer would be so mind boggling that you be enraged with fury and close my thread.

This goes to the rest asking what it means, minus the close part.

Also, Coolbeano as i said in my first post. It doesn't matter what you call them, it's all the same.

No, no you couldn't. Why? because it is grammatically incorrect, you can't say that. End of story.

You might not want to use that in a trivia game ... why in the world would you believe him to be the originator?  The ellipsis (3 dots) have been around forever ... a 1985 dictionary I have even lists the three dots.

The three ellipses are used to signal a common understanding of the words it replaces.

Bah! I hate how people use them wrong!

You use them like this... Then contiue like this if you want to, leaving a space after the three dots. DO NOT DO IT LIKE THIS...OK?

Also, it has to be three dots. Any more or less is either a type or you just suck.

They are used when you end a sentance in an almost... Coninuous manor, or it can show that you are thinking of the next word to say (Well, it's like that for me, as I type how I would speak in real life).

Maybe people will use them more correctly now...

And what about 4 dots?

I do believe the majority of 3-dot users know not when to use 4 dots instead of 3.
