I only really played 1942 single player (borrowed it from a friend before I had the internet ) I have 2142 and play it a bit mainly with clan mates and it is a good game with some improved features, but I have to say BF2 is by some distance my favourite
BF2 was an improvement over BF1942, using updated technology, etc. Can't say I've played 2142 and I don't intend on it.
Don't get me wrong though, Bf1942 was a lot of fun, expecially with the mods.

I like playing 2142 more than bf2 ... but considering all these titles in the series, Bf2 is the clear all around winner (IMO).

Played em all, at least the 2142 Demo - and 42 comes close with some of the mods but 2 wins outright.[ I would say 10/35/55 to 21/42/2

pretty sure C&C has made them tons more money than battlefield.
different games, but definitely can tell difference in quality.
bf1942 was by far the best bf series game in terms of gameplay.
bf2 brought the rank system which is good for some people like me.

BF2 has been the best so far, but if they re-did 1942 to the standard of BF2 and also had an awards/ranks system (just better structured) with it, then that'd be awesome.
