Well, it's not like they confirm his picks just like he'd like.
Besides, they are on vacation, something their always bitching about him doing.

Hey the funny thing is they are probably taking vacations on US tax dollars, the whole government is fucked up, its like the war bill, their is like 1billion dollars in it for things not having anything to do with the war.

no... I'm a college student.  But I'm fairly sure that with the exception of students and teachers and the like most other professionals get the occasional national holiday off along with whatever paid vacation plan they have with their company.  But I've never heard of a company just saying "You know what? Its nice outside this week!  Shit, lets leave all this work for next week, and go down to Cancun and drink margaritas this week!"

All I'm saying is that I wont care if ppl bypass congress until congress actually tries to do its job.

They demanded an apology from him before they would vote against him.  Screw that.  Kerry was, is, and always will be a little bitch.  How about the Clintons getting money from China?  Did you make a post about that?

I get 4 weeks of paid holiday a year...I dont see why politicians cannot have the same.

How many vacations does Congress need? I looked it up and they get at least 5 weeks of recess. What company out there gives any employee 5 weeks vacation? They only way you can get that much vacation with a normal company is to work for that company at least 20 years.....
I have no problems with Congress having a Vacation, but 5 weeks? Shit, they are off for a week about once a month, how in the hell they get anything accomplished is beyond me.

my dad can take off up to 12 weeks a year if he so chooses, and that was part of the deal when he was hired...

The first year for the 110th is only 1/4 over with and already they've worked more than half the days that a whole year of 109th Congress worked.  Regardless of who's political agenda you support, you can at least admit we're getting our money's worth out of these guys so far.  They're working the full work week and pushing the agenda the voters elected them to do, what more could you ask for in a republic?

So Bush should be free to bypass the Senate whenever he knows they'll disagree?  That's like being 5 years old and sneaking a cookie from the jar because your parents will tell you "No."

Basically, you're saying the Senate and congress in general shouldn't act as a check on presidential power in any way shape or form...there's a name for this kind of government...let me think...

The only reason the dems fought this is because Fox contributed money to the swiftwater vets and Kerry wanted revenge.   It had nothing to do with checks and balances - And you know it.
