Yet it would appear that only some passengers made these claims, suggesting that they may have been making it up, and that the security sweeps found nothing suggests they should be allowed on.
Having said that, the passengers shouldn't be punished for reporting what they felt was suspicious behaviour. The airline, however, should be punished if they were inappropriately removed from the flight.

Does anyone here think they did this on purpose? Knowing damn well what the reaction would be.

Whether or not they did doesn't change whether or not the airline acted appropriately.
Ok. But you have to admit, it is a tough call right?Bubbalo wrote:

I think the airline company responded appropriately, people were acting in a suspicious manner and they proceeded to take measures to ensure that nothing bad would happen, or at least it would be on a small scaleusmarine2007 wrote:

Not true... The laws are very ambiguous concerning airlines. Much of this results from the security procedures required. For example, the TSA has the authority to keep anyone they deem a threat from boarding a flight. While the TSA is a governmental organization, an airline manager can draw the TSA's attention to a passenger they may feel is risky. Usually, the TSA will detain the person targeted, and if they agree with the manager's rationale, they can keep the person from boarding the flight.jonsimon wrote:

Last time I checked any business can refuse service to anyone it pleases. They made the right call.
So, while it is true that a business is somewhat limited in who it can refuse service to, with the help of the TSA, they can effectively keep anyone from boarding a flight. Technically, they don't even have to refund the person.
As far as I know, American airlines are given a certain amount of leeway in that. For example, they can't be expected to fly someone home who they seriously believe is a threat. I don't know how the laws work in Australia, but here, they can essentially say, "Sorry, go catch a bus."Bubbalo wrote:

Whether or not they get sued later is another matter. Ultimately, the success of a sue case primarily depends on the quality of your lawyer and the evidence presented, just like any other case.
Two weeks ago I took a flight and there was a couple of Muslims waiting the same flight. They were doing nothing weird or suspicious, but I still checked on them. I wish I could see them without prejudice but the press have brainwashed all of us. And when you are about to get on a plane with a couple of Muslims you imagine things.usmarine2007 wrote:

I don't think it's a major problem until people get really paranoid.
However... security protocols would be much more effective, completely unbiased, and much much faster if we installed those machines at airports that can see through clothing. I can't remember what they're called, but they are the ideal security machines.
Damn right mingy.usmarine2007 wrote:

They should be banned from commercial flights, forever.
There is a lower intensity radiation machine that works like an X-ray machine that specifically sees through clothing, instead of skin. I can't remember the name of it, but apparently, it doesn't produce enough radiation to cause cancer in any feasible scenario. Supposedly, the likelihood of getting cancer from it was ridiculously low.Ottomania wrote:

these are not very healthy if you are flying much.
They sound like a great idea, but the problem with them is that people are never going to be happy with security people looking at them nekkid every time they fly.Turquoise wrote:

True... getting support for these machines being installed in America would be very difficult.ghettoperson wrote:

However, the U.K. already has a few in place. Apparently, they realize that their security is more important than worrying about a few moments of nudity.

Incidentally, the latest episode of Southpark is to do with the whole Muslim stereotyping thing. And it's entertaining!

LOL... great parody of 24...
That's exactly what i think. 100% think it was/is a publicity stunt to shine light on the "discrimination" that these guys, and other muslims, must feel on a daily basis.usmarine2007 wrote:

If they put down a Prayer rug in a public place like an Airport Terminal I would have walked over and accidently stood on it, let a fine fart go in his face while I was at it. Love to see em try and stop me.

these people have been very hard on us here. They hurt many people who untill then felt their cause was just and wanted them to have a stronger voice. Hillary clinton in her campaign made a real effort to secure their vote. they mainly live in one area and this makes their vote disproportionally powerful in our political system. Those scum one the plane were deliberately trying to make trouble in a way that many people are very sensitive to and it only hampers their cause, I would have obliged them.Wow aren't you cool? Please die.
ps This is a poor place to make personal threats.
OMG... that is exactly what I was thinking....Those fuckers looking for some free money. They are not that dumb, smart enought to pull a scam and smart enought to build a IEDusmarine2007 wrote:
