Well, that was an interesting bit there with Magpie. ANYWAYS, back on topic:
That was most likely what it was, just some kids doing some random crap.Hurricane wrote:
I think it was nothing more than a prank by some high schoolers.
Whatever it is, they might just get fined, maybe some time in juvy are what I'm guessing, not really sure...iNeedUrFace4Soup wrote:
What are the charges for putting cd players in church?
I'm not risking the lives of my whole congregation because of your reasonable confidence.ghettoperson wrote:
I'm reasonably confident that none of the bomb attacks around the world played CD's that swore at people. Perhaps if it told them to convert to Islam before their deaths you might think that, but that was quite clearly a prank. That, and if they wanted to bomb a church, they'd just bomb it, and not bother warning everyone out of the church with swearing CD players.rawls2 wrote:

Well they decided it was safe enough to keep one for evidence. Why were the other two so threatening?
With bomb attacks going off all over the world you have the audacity to question how the situation was handled.
...and I'll continue to laugh at the paranoia of my fellow countrymen.rawls2 wrote:

Your suggestion would be what...Have a little kid fetch that walkman taped underneath a pew. How stupid can you be to equate cautiousness with paranoia?Turquoise wrote:

You know how easy it is to make a bomb out of a CD player?Turquoise wrote:

Enlighten me... if you can show me how to make a bomb out of a CD player, then I'll concede.
I'd almost call this a prank. The whole congregation and police got Punk'd!
So know a bomb has to say "BOMB" on it and look like a black round ball with a little fuse sticking out? Do I really need to go further, nah, I'll leave it at that.Turquoise wrote:

No, seriously... show me how to make a bomb out of a CD player. I know bombs can be made out of many things, but I've never seen a CD player bomb.rawls2 wrote:

I'm surprised myself, i didn't realise there was this level of paranoia. I assumed the Boston cartoon signs thing was just a one off but it's looking like it's going to happen more frequently as kids with too much time on their hands realise they can play these kind of pranks.Turquoise wrote:

I'm waiting for Somone to drop an ipod on the floor at the stock exchange and see if they have to abandon the building.

One forum member in particular does not like this link or think it is possible. Believe what you want. I know for a fact this can be done...easily.
Same can be done to ANYTHING..even a CD player.

See, rawls, if I had known about this or if you had posted some evidence to back your claim up, then I would've responded differently.
No problem. I tried. But I suck at searching crap on the web. Thanks, usmarine.Turquoise wrote:

An ipod falling to the floor..... no. An ipod duct taped to the back of board member's chair....yes.crimson_grunt wrote:

Maybe. With 2 of these instances happening so close together I'm expecting to see more of these kind of scares in the near future so I guess we'll see.rawls2 wrote:

I would definitely expect more false alarms in the near future, mostly by kids or teens.crimson_grunt wrote:

I guess the crucial part of this is figuring out a way to separate the real threats from the fake ones. Sadly, paranoia is still very much a widespread thing in America, but after seeing that thing that USMarine posted, I can partially see why.
I guess we're just lucky most terrorists aren't that crafty.
Bollocks. You've posted this before and it's nothing but an edited video with a bang at the end.Turquoise wrote:
