X-Fire?

I'm about to do this x-fire thing for the first time, and I'm still not sure what the hell is going on. I have a few questions and would appreciate any help you can give me.

1. Does it slow down gameplay or jack my ping?

2. Do I just download it onto my gaming computer (not this one) and let 'er rip?

Any thoughts or suggestions?

1. It is a relatively small program and should have no effect on your game play. It does not take up much bandwidth at all and therefore should have little or no effect on your ping.

2. Yes, you just download and install it onto your gaming computer.
