Erm as most rapes are comitted by husbands/fathers/relations/friends then gun ownership makes no difference as the raper will have the same access to the guns as the victim. Oddly enough though, despite the US having guns (yep you guessed it) the US has a rape rate of around 0.3 per 1000 people, the UK has about 0.14 per 1000 people.theelviscerator wrote:

Are you really saying that without the guns the numbers would be higher? If so what the fuck is wrong with America?
Wouldn't it be more clever to have a high gun law instead of all these people getting shot?
The only thing I don't like is how everyone is coming together and "supporting" the people. This reminds me of after 9/11 happened and all of the US came together as one... Look where we are at now?? Its like people don't even care anymore. Candle-light vigils in the US are totally cliché... Especially when most of the people in this county are hypocrates who are not interested in what is good for the country. Call its shot-glass partiotism... This is shot-glass sympothy.
Another factor influencing the number of these shootings is the US population; a mass-murder is more likely to occur in a country with 300 million people than in a country with 20 million.
