Lived in Salt Lake City, UT for most of my life.  Have also lived in Rio de Janiero for 2 and a half years, and spent a year traveling through Europe.  I truly love traveling in general and have been to 30-some countries.  I just finished my Bachelors degree at the University of Utah, and will start looking for a new job in the next couple of months.  My job right now is a bit boring, but it is a good job.  I inspect Aerospace parts for Quality Assurance.

Politically, I dont know exactly what I am.  50 years ago I would have been a Democrat here in America, and 20 years ago I would have been a Republican.  Today I can only say that I am mostly just Conservitive (traditional conservative that believes in LESS government).

I am a Mormon.  While some Mormons here dont see me as a very good Mormon, I try to be a good person and follow Christ's example.  I swear a bit much, and love horrible movies, but I try to make sure that I show my gratitude for Christ's sacrifice whenever I can.  I try to treat others well and maintain balance in my life.

Most of my friends are Athiests.  Athiests dont offend me at all.  I love that in todays world people can beleive whatever they want.  I just wish athiests would be as respectful of my beliefs as I am of thiers.

I love the USA, and am proud to live here, but our food sucks.  I love food and wish I could spend more time in Europe and Asia.

Hobbies: No-holds-barred fighting, computer gaming, camping, eating, reading and most of all, my family (I have a hot wife, a daughter, and a son on the way).

Life is good.

I think this has been done before, but no matter.
My real name is Peter, but I get called 'Ty' quite a bit now instead . I'm a 19 year-old New Zealander currently doing a Law and Political Science degree at Victoria University in Welington. I like Kayaking, Rock Climbing, Cartooning, Writing and Music mostly - I play Guitar mainly, but play a handful of other instruments. Music is probably the one thing I could not live without. I also enjoy hunting and playing paintball whenever I have the opportunity, (which isn't as often as I would like.) I'm not really a card-carrying D&ST-er, but I stop by here quite a lot and argue about anything. I'm fairly liberal in my views I suppose, although I try to take everything into account. I tend to believe that the only thing as bad as a staunch unwavering conservative is a staunch unwavering liberal.

Also, just because I'm a Mod dosen't mean you can't argue against me, I won't ban you for that.

27, happily married for 5 years (together for 7) w/ a 3 yr. old son and 5 mo. old daughter

Born and raised in Michigan, currently living in Wisconsin.  Family’s in Michigan, so someday I’ll move back.

Right-wing conservative and proud of it.

Music, gaming, cars, and reading are my main interests.  Music is in my blood since I've been a musician from  a young age.  Piano and guitar as my primary instruments, the piano is a Roland digital and my guitar is a Washburn acoustic-electric.  My tastes vary from classical piano to Metallica and Godsmack and just about anything in between.  The reading involves military-based and suspense novels (Tom Clancy, Christopher Whitcomb, Clive Cussler, John Grisham, etc.) and philosophical debate/religious subjects (Ravi Zacharius, C.S. Lewis, G.K Chesterton, Phillip Yancey etc.)  When it comes to gaming, FPS and racing games are my forte.  For FPS, the Battlefield series, F.E.A.R., and MOH series are my favorites.  Need for Speed series and RFactor are my racing games.  Recently branched out in to RTS with the C&C series.  I love classic and sports cars, though right now I don’t have the money to own one.  69 Yenko Camaro, 70s 454 Chevelle, or any 60s Stingray (hence my forum/ingame title) would be my top 3.  New cars I drool over are the new Vette, BMW M3 and M5, Cadillac XLR and many more.

Love watching History, Discovery, and NG channels on tv.  Also football, basketball,  NASCAR, and GT racing.

Licensed personal banker is my current profession.  .

K, I'll bite.

I'm Robin. 20 years old, currently a code monkey in training for a startup IT company, and an office temp. I'm 6'2", skinny, but I cycle enough to keep a decent amount of muscle definition and 6-pack abs. I live in Twyford, in south-east England, which is next to Reading on the Great Western main line, the old London-to-Bath road, the A4, and the M4, and also right under the approach path to Heathrow.
My hobbies are as follows:
Wargaming (warhammer 40K mainly)
Roleplaying (DnD, Shadowrun, Inquisitor in various forms, and online freeform)
Gaming (BF2, trying to break Deus Ex, UT, Dawn of War, and G-mod)
Cycling
Reading (sci-fi novels for the most part, but branching out into techno-thriller, cyberpunk, and millitary non-fiction stuff)
Travelling
Karate (a new aquisition, started last week)

I fall into the 'alternative' subculture (metalhead, specifically), with a heavy helping of 'nerd' as well. As such, I wear the black clothing, chains, spikes, and heavy boots, but do so while playing DnD with the guys I went to school with, or playing Halo with my gaming buddies. I'm also an atheist, so don't bombard me with religious crap because you'll either get ignored or I'll get pissy.
I have dyspraxia and asberger syndrome, which means I have issues with balance and coordination, while being autistic at the same time. This leads to many problems, most importantly my tendency to walk into things, extra-sensitive senses, wierd mental wiring, and volatile personality. The latter two are the most prominent online, due to there being no doorframes on the internet, and only text. But I still tend to misunderstand things, have encyclopaedic knowledge of some subjects while being completely ignorant of others, and my habit of exploding into violent rage without warning if someone pisses me off.

Politically, I vote Conservative because they're the only ones that do things right, but consider my views to be pretty much fascist.
I believe the only kind of government that gets things done right is a dictatorship. However, I don't trust anyone else to get things right, so I fully believe I should be in charge of the world. I have a rough plan for acheiving this involving a large coilgun situated in Siberia.

Most recent usable pic I have:

I love mountain biking, although that is rather limited over here. I love music, mostly metal, but also other stuff, providing that it isn't techno or rap. I've played drums for 6 years now.

Oh yes, I also enjoy wasting my life on forums.
Hows IB I'm considering going into that program... I heard it was challenging. But I'm quite intelligent and I'd be up to the challenge.
IB = International Baccalaureate?
If it is, and you're in the US, the whole IB thing is a waste of time, in my opinion. I've been in all the IB classes I could be in so far in high school except for two classes. You work your ass off to get a bigger diploma at graduation and don't have a better chance at getting into college than anyone else.

As for my introduction.

My real name's Eric, but a lot of people call me 'Ace' for some random reason. I've never figured out why.
I live in Oceanside, CA, and I'm turning 18 next Friday.
I don't post in D&ST too much, maybe one every three weeks or so.
I don't like associating myself with the political parties of the U.S. since I like and dislike ideas from both the Republicans and Democrats. However, I do lean a bit onto the Conservative side right now.
I'm currently in the DEP for the Navy as a Corpsman, hoping to go FMF Corpsman after I finish A-School.
I'm currently hooked on the series Firefly.

I also agree with with what jsnipy posted: "I rarely post on D&ST because I tend to denigrate into "trolldom". But I like reading the posts and feel its the shining star of these boards."

And that's about it.

I'll post a pic of myself whenever I get around to finding one or I decide to take one.

My name is Andrew.  I'm 28.  I was born in New Plymouth in New Zealand's North Island but have lived most of my life in the Canterbury province in the South Island.  I currently live in Christchurch, but grew up in a small farming town called Ashburton, about an hours drive south of here.

I'm currently working as a storeperson for an electrical fittings company and am studying towards a Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in Computer Science (should be called Software Engineering!).

For fun I've done a bit of whitewater kayaking and urban exploration (old buildings etc), and am currently looking at getting into paintball using RAMs.  And of course theres drinking most weekends (I have a bourbon and coke in front of me right now ) and a bit of ganj when I'm not studying.

I'm an athiest.

Politically I don't like to label myself as left or right as I try to think about individual issues rather than just picking a side.  I vote every election.

Food-wise I eat meat.  I grew up with traditional NZ/British fare, but now eat anything that has a nice flavour.  At the moment I'm quite fond of making Italian style dishes though tonight I ate at an Afghani restaurant.

As far as gaming goes, my memorable games include Rogue, Nethack, Dune 2, Dune 2000, Total Annihilation, Evil Genius, BF1942 and BF2.  I liked playing BRE and Tradewars on BBSs, and have done a little bit of tabletop RPGing, I'm a white wolf (vampire etc) fan.

My music tastes are varied...I like a bit of everything really, though at the moment I listen to either a rock station or student radio (lots of techno/drum'n'bass/dub/etc) at work...at home, anything I think isn't shit.  I don't really like concerts, but like going to the odd outdoor rave.

Anders here, 26. Born in June 1980, raised and currently living in Turku, Finland, a town of ~170 000 people in the Southwest of Finland.

BBA in Marketing Communication. During weekdays I'm an export manager for a small company in the automotive industry (see Motor Show pics of me with hawt chicks in Moscow in the appropriate thread). Music is a passion to me; both listening and playing. During the weekends I'm a rhythm-guitarist in a 4 member band playing something you could call pseudo-progressive-post-grunge-metal. Politically I'm a leftie and a member of the Social Democrat party in Finland.

As my connection in Seattle (Downy), I too enjoy cheese. As for D&ST I stay out of the most fiery discussions regarding conflicts in the Middle East. I google-debate only when I already know a fact, but need sources to back it up.

The name is Aapo (weird ain't it ) and I'm 24. I live in our capitol region in a city called Espoo, Finland.

I'm studying at a university of technology to get my masters degree in telecommunications. Still a couple of years to go. I'm engaged to a crafts/math-teacher, an amazing woman but not particularly fond of computer gaming .

I have been a regular reader of the D&ST way longer than I've been registered here, and I still post very rarely. At least compared to how often I just come to follow you guys rant

I'm not a member of any political organization.
I have practically no respect at all for mainstream organized religions, but I can appreciate people who practice their faith in private.

Great thread ghetto! +1 D&ST needed something like this...

I'm Andreas, 25. I've studied English Literature at the University of Athens, where I live. I also speak a little French. At the moment I teach English and translate various stuff on the side, but nothing is permanent. My job barely pays for my share of the rent, so I'm currently looking for something else (when I'm not bored that is)... preferably in some other country, because I'm getting a bit tired of living in the same place for so long.

Passions include soccer, snowboard (whenever that is possible around here) and traveling. Despite the economic difficulties, (from what I've read till now I must be the poorest person on these forums ) I've had the chance to visit quite a few places in my time, and I must confess that these journeys have had a major eye-opening effect on me. In fact, I've come to believe that one cannot draw safe conclusions for a certain place or culture without having first hand experience of it.

Oddly enough for a Greek person, smoking is not my thing, but I'm a major fan of the drink.

Gaming-wise: Back in the day I used to have an Amstrad CPC 6128, but that doesn't really count as gaming...
I guess I first got addicted to CS, the next logical step being bf2 of course!

Music: I'm pretty open to all kinds of stuff, and I like songs from all kinds of music. My all time favorite band has to be the Doors. Lately I mostly listen to Queens of the Stone Age, Kyuss, Audioslave and similar stuff. And, I absolutely love the blues.

I don't read as much as I'd like, and I have the bad habit of not finishing books I start if they're not so good... Now I'm going through Eric Hobsbaum's "Age of Extremes" and I'm determined to finish this one!

John here, I am 40. Married with 2 sons 9 and 10. living in Georgia.
I was raised an Army brat living all over the US and parts of the Far East. I love the travel. My entire adult life has been spent in aviation as an A&P mechanic, ( airframe and powerplant ). I have, for the most part, seen or done it all in this field, from watching a friend get sucked up an engine, to loosing friends in plane crashes, to watching a plane get cut in half when he just didn't quite make it off the runway in time. I have been involved in some pretty scary episodes of my own. I also am a private pilot which is one of my passions, the other is my sons interests. I support them with whatever they want to explore, then I try and do it with them. They are pretty much my life now.

Did I mention that I am a conservative?

I have severe reservations about this... you'll know in a few minutes if I'll go along or not.

Alright... fine.

Name: HongAn Le. No middle name. Don't ask how you say it, every year I get about 20 people saying it wrong and it pisses me off.

Age: Just turned 15.

Background - Come from a family of vietnamese descent (but born in Thailand), migrated here when I was 3. I have absolutely no memory of anything before '96, so as far as I am concerned I was Australian-'born'. Don't worry, I am a very fluent English speaker (so fluent that several people think I'm English, which is weird).

Gee... what else...

In school, well. Let's just say that you wouldn't believe my results if you saw them Aspirations, mostly in the strange world of physics - but I do try to keep a decent knowledge of all the sciences (which helps in creationism debates, because it means I can whack them from all sides). Don't know what I like to do as such...

Oh, and I should be conservative, but I'm not. Liberal.
