For me it depends on the map...

If I'm USMC in Sharqi, it's best to be a sniper so you can lay your claymores at the TV station since nobody seems to want to defend it.

If I'm the Chinese on Dragon Valley or USMC on Karkand, it's gotta be engineer so you can put mines under your vehicles. Especially true in Dragon Valley, because the vehicles at the refinery were pretty much put there for the USMC to use to help cap it

If I have to be a fighting commander, then usually Spec-Ops so that it's harder to detect and artillery me.

Anyways, on and on...I'd say overall Engineer is the best so you can repair assets and mine vehicles etc.

i usually go engy. or at least i did for my 35 min global commanding time
once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot  xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.

Usually engineer, as you can repair assests etc: Plus you can blow spec ops away with shotgun:)

Assault, check out my assault kdr
I used to sit in a ground defense at US Karkand uncap.
Almost all the kills on assault kit are artillery kills.

i go sniper, and i hide so i have a clear veiw of the assets, and atleast one flag, engi is useless because yo u can repaire assets with the supply crates, unless someone actually needs 1

Whatever kit needs the time if I'm commanding from initial spawn, otherwise it's whatever needs the time and experience as a frontline soldier...

If I wasn't padding my times with other classes, it'd be AT or Support.
Because I like big guns and I cannot lie, all you other brothas can't deny, with the itty-bitty stock and the barrel in your face, you get SHOT!
I think I just found my new sig.

I have all the kit time so it depends on the map and what side you are on. Here are some highlights

Sharqi - USMC - Assault, sit on the third floor TV station, flashbang the flag takers and grenade or shoot them.

Kubra - USMC -  Snpier, sit in the house at bridge base, claymore the door and flag. - good times...

Dragon - PLA - Engy - sit in the catwalk of the big garage - mine the vehicles. USMC - engy - get in the water at the docks, repair assets when needed. On Dragon, supplies should always go near friendly active mobile AA guns.

Its fun to find spots and kit combos that work well as commander.

Why does that make it harder to detect you? I can detect SpecialOps guys as commander just as easily as any other class.

I usually play sniper for most of the reasons above.

I sometimes play anti-tank because there is nothing better than shooting a plane with an eryx when someone is trying to steal a plane from the airfield.

I never ever play commander at all and i am a 1st Lt.

i have no time to deal with smurfs all over the minimap. and people want to be commander just to get 40+ kills to get their expert badge of whatever kit they are playing with...

commander whores are just plain noobs , stupid ass admins.

Usually when I command I play engineer.  This is so I can do repairs if needed.  This only works if the assets are in a workable location.
This prevents me from dropping repair crates, and giving the guys that just blew them up more ammo to do it again.

Engineer is the best kit to play as commander.

All of you commander who waste supply drops on your arty, should be exicuted, it always happens, when I'm on a nice killing streak in a tank, after taking out their APC, tank, several troops, I'm begging for a supply drop and all I get is.
"Denied, Commander is being a twat and wasting the drop you vitally need".

Also, Karkand as an Engineer, love Jackhammering Spec-Ops who come to blow assests, then I go and hide under the little canopy on the left Arty site of USMC, when playing USMC, stops you getting carty or aryt'd.

So if nobody specifically ask for a supply crate, do you think they don't need it?
Always drop it to help your tanks. Right on the tank if he's fighting, or lead him dropping the crate on the flag he's going to cap. Or check the radar for enemy tanks and drop the crate where your tank is gonna face the enemy.

Crates to repair commander assets are the most stupid thing to do. A smart spec-op wait for the supply drop, get 5 new c4 charges, destroys that asset again AND destroys the crate. You still have 2 assets down, and he's ready to destroy more. And you will NEVER out-repair him, as he can destroy 2 things with one of your crates, while you can repair a single asset.

Back on topic: ALWAYS engineer.

i only supply crate the assets if the situation is right, i wil send attack orders to the nearest flag to the assets, sneak in , make sure there are'nt any smart ass spec-ops hiding, actually ask anyone if they want supplies, then do it - if im not enginer
