BF2S Forums Is the AK-101 still the best assault riffle???

from the choices 101 obviously. Anyone who openly says G36e would get flamed until they rolled over and died.

I used to be the same, but when I figured out what I was doing wrong I just started to love the way the M16 handles itself. 1 tip, unless your around 1 metre away from someone, never destroy your finger by pressing the left mouse button as fast as you can with the M16 - controlled bursts > whoever your against.

M16 pwns I luv it i'd use over anything unless the Aks were there. If you know how to use the M16 and AKs you are leathal.

This "unlocks suxx0rz" stuff is rather stupid.  All the guns act differently in every players hands, so everyone has their own opinion.  Of course they will all be different, and for different reasons.  However, saying someone sucks and is a noob because they use an unlock isn't cool.  The guns are all part of the game, so use them!

Now, to keep this on-topic, I personally got used to the L85A1, and I used that a lot and love it.  However, lately I've been using the 101 and fell in love, great gun.  And then I played PLA and picked up the AK47, and for some reason I seem to be doing well with it, so I'm trying to use it.  I do like the G3 though, packs a nice punch.

but on topic, i prefer unlocks to the stock guns, however, if i had to choose

M-16 > Ak's anyday

ak-101 PWNS any gun, only noobs use unlocks

I like the Ak47 being an Iron Gator player. AK101 is alright but the ak47 has some nice damage and if you know how to aim then its an exellent choise.

AK-101 !!    RULES!!!!!!1111!!  it's the Greatest Weapon  in Bf2!!  easily

All the basic assualt rifles have their pros and cons

AK47 has nice damage and fair accuracy, but at range especially with automatic, it tends to go downhill, and its deviation goes up so fast its ridiculous
Ak101 is accurate and powerful, and its like the middle ground
the L85 is essentially the complete middle ground, with ok damage, more than the M16 but less than the AKs, but it has slightly less accuracy than the M16 and on automatic its deviation goes up almost as fast as the AK47
The M16 is the weakest assualt rifle, but the most accurate.  Still very nice though

All the assault rifles are very good IMO

however, if you want to look at how good the guns are but only looking at stats, the AK47 wins.  Why?
if you are in a lan game, and two players of of equal skill, and they all have superhuman aim and reflexes (aimbot, etc) then the AKs win every time, simply because of the one shot to the head kills
however, i don't know if dying cuts off an M16 burst or not, but i suspect not so it would still kill the other guy too
