I can't get the Helicopter Service Ribbon, why? I can fly the Helicopter and everything.
Don't let me in the plane with you. I'll be looking to slam on the brake that isn't there. Do it all the time no matter who I'm riding with. That and I can't stand to ride anywhere. Anything less than 8 hours and I'm doing the driving. Except in BF2, because everyone would die.Burning_Monkey wrote:

For some reason, I attract missiles. I have never been in a plane or helicopter that has landed under it's own power. It is bad enough that my clan mates will make me hump to the location instead of catching a ride. I think it is funny as all hell actually.
I am lucky if I can fly about 10 meters before I get shot at or blown up!!

I was humping the distance to the next CP one day and forgot to reset my spawn point to somewhere other than the squad leader. It was one of my better matches and I had been going for about 10 minutes with out dieing. The group in the blackhawk where doing great and whe were taking spawn points and holding them very well.
I got punked by a bunny hopper, respawned into the blackhawk and it was shot down within 2 seconds. I didn't even have the time to say "Shit" and bail out.

While I've never tried flying with a joystick, flying with keyboard and mouse isn't magic - I can fly helos and jets as good as anybody out there and I've never touched a joystick. It's all about practise - play with bots and by yourself and you'll get the hang of it!

I do ok against bots and the like with a copter, but the jets I can't fly worth a crap. I can't turn fast enough or something.
At least I am not the only one that can really fly a jet!!
i actually prefer using a mouse, i tried a joystick and found that im so used to a mouse that its easier for me to use a mouse. i love flying upside down like 2 inches off the ground
Concetrate on the artificial horizon, and practise, practise, practise..........
I'd say simply don't worry about it...practice makes perfect. Like chuy I also spent a LOT of time in singleplayer mode learning how to pilot the helos in Desert Combat. If you're willing to practice, then you'll get better, regardless of how bad you are
yeah, I generally just stay on the ground. The only reason I am going to bother trying to get in a jet is to get my basic aviator badge so I can be a Sergeant Major. After that I won't care. It's too bad I'll probably buy a joystick for this sole purpose...
