Hey I have a question. My current rifle is a GP-37 which I'm rather fond of. It's served me very well in numerous fights with Bandits, Mutants and the Military, unfortunatly it's in a state of disrepair. Is there anywhere I can take it to get fixed?

Find a new one. Once you get to Pripyat and similar areas it becomes quite common. Also once you get into the sercaphogus of the plant your going to find an f2000 which in my opinion is a nice upgrade to the g36.Ty wrote:

I use 9x39mm weapons exclusively . Exellent stopping power and accuracy if you use SP-5 sniper ammo
Ah , I forgot SVD & SVD-U. They are done in the way they had to be done in BF2 .
It's a shame , but theres no way to repair weapons\armour now . But on the forums DEV team read there are shitload of suggestions to introduce repairing inещ the game . Hope it will be done in next patches .

Everybody can have his own opinion. I have got mine. [S.T.A.L.K.E.R] S.U.C.K.S lol
stalker was horrible. the infantry combat was horrible due to the bad bullet registration. i stopped playing it cause my bullets didn't registrate until the enemy "ouch" animation was over
I loved the combat...my only complaint is that you can empty an entire clip into a soldiers chest and he wont die, but I like how THAT forces you to go for head shots, which after a while you get very good at.O))) one-weak wrote:

I waited years for it to arrive, and while I'm slightly disappointed in at the very least the lack of polish in the game, I find it absolutely consuming. I can play it for hours on end and not get bored. I have to slightly agree with some of the previous posts complaining about the weapon accuracies, it does make it more realistic but at the same time more satisfying to take down an enemy. I didn't care for the multiplayer part of it and if the bugs and such get worked out it'd be a top 10 game in my book.
Quick questions
Is it possible to vustomize your characters look?
Does the game feature cities or camps seeling ammo etc?

- Nope, unless you consider armor customizationSgt.Davi wrote:

stalker makes much more sense for those who played and liked it.
all others seem to think that stalker is a fps game...
this game reminds me more of Deus Ex than Fallout...
it could pass for Deus Ex 2 imo, great game!
havent bothered with multiplayer... its probably as bad as Dark Messiah was, not a chance i would play it over 2142.
i cant wait to get my hands on Fallout 3 either, but i have a concern Bethesda is gonna make a blunder.

Yeah, blame shitty NZ currency and the fact that games don't decrease in value until they're at least five years old. For example, BF2 is still $100.
Grr.
I'd like to register that I really liked the realistic ballistics. Sure it doesn't make you a one-man army as other games do, but that's not the point of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. In other games, you are the main character with a mission to get from A to B, (on sometimes C,) but with S.T.A.L.K.E.R you're simply an element of the world. I like that.
The only technical difference between the NCPs and you is that you can heal mid-battle with health packs, and they have unlimited ammunition, (they still have to reload.) Other than that you share the same health, (depending on what armour you wear,) and you're no more accurate than they are.

Hey, this has probably been asked before, but I'm having trouble connecting to any multiplayer servers on S.T.A.L.K.E.R. I've patched up to 1.0001, but can't join to any servers. Whenever I attempt to, the message "Connection Error: Different Version" comes up. Does anyone else have this problem, and more importantly, how do you fix it?
my first guess would be its a clan server and they are using mods.
i have heard the multiplayer is not good in the game so i have not bothered with it...
apparently you never run out of ammo, so snipers are a huge problem once they are nested.

(Recommended System Requirments on website)
'AMD Athlon 64x2 4800+ or Intel Core 2 Duo, 1Gb RAM, 3D Hardware Accelerator Card Required - 100% DirectXR 9.0c compatible 256MB (Geforce 7800, for example).
It should be noted that at the start of the game development our initially targeted system requirements were much lower. As a result (and due to the lengthy game development) the game can be played well on lower-end systems (the game ships with two renders - DirectX 8 and DirectX 9 one).
Additionally, the game allows to scale various options for optimal performance. For the maximum quality and performance, the more powerful system you have, the better.'
ok never mind, i couldnt find it, hmmm ill keep looking i really did think i saw it..

Will weapons be modifiable?

Will...they cut down about 50% of content that they promised to release S.T.A.L.K.E.R. intimeSniper-UK-Ghost wrote:

No doubt there will be patches in the future to add the stuff they promised. Hopefully they won't make all saved games useless of course.
Then again when Battlefield 2 was announced the main thing I was loking forward to was their "fully destructable environments".
I'l show them fully destructable environments...

Can i ask, (getting game in 3 days for bday ) is there good snipers, or they stink?
I've got it and began playing it the other day. The environments look simply amazing with the exception of a few graphical artifacts which i think were fixed with the recent patch. HDR looks amazing in this game and ties in really well with the environments.
