Heh there are no released public 8800GTX drivers... I'm sticking with XP until vista releases their first service pack.

None of them will work with Vista, nVidia struck a deal with M$, I thought everyone knew that.

In more pressing news, shouldn't this be in the Tech section?

Link? Proof? I highly doubt even M$ would make such an asshole move, especially to alienate so very many potential customers.

While I can't find any other data, Valve's hardware survey (817,792 responses as of Jan 14th '07) shows that 38.43% of responders are running ATI cards (judging from which drivers they're using). That's over one-third of all owners.

Consider that Valve's survey is more likely to get responses from gamers. In terms of non-gamers, most of their computers probably have the onboard Intel video acceleration, also NOT made by NVIDIA. If M$ wanted to do something truly stupid then they'd alienate that many potential users by making their fancy-pants new UI not work with their installed graphics card. That's why I have trouble believing your statement without proof.

Shit, if a GeForce FX Go5100 GPU can handle Vista, I'm pretty sure my X1900 XTX can handle Vista.

I'm switching to Vista the day a DX10 game comes out. Not before.
