You have planes, choppers, sattelites, UAV's etc and you cry because theyr are using google earth??
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!
And no they aren't terrorists.. they are attacking military targets.. not civilians.. stop crying now..you want to fight a war? fight and don't cry when you enemy is fighting back
lol
technically, google earth doesnt use up to date photos, so i dont see how this can be possible
read the good posts in this thread and you will understand that it is possible
and the thing about going after google earth is to prevent this from happening again... not because it did happen. Some people these days just don't think things through very clearly

The British troops were based at a hotel at the time weren't they? People print maps to hotels all the time.... probably just a coincidence.
Anyway, lot's of the places I thought were/would be censored seem to be visible now.... I'm already making a escape plan...

And for the people who say that the whole of google earth is years out of date, you can buy high detail, cloudless photos of Baghdad less than 2 months old... switch on digital earth information, the good imagery will be marked on the map with an 'i', click that and you'll get ordering information. The stuff you get for free is crap compared to what you can get with enough cash... in fact, you could probably order high detail photos to be taken of any military base you want if you have enough cash.... there are plenty of satellites up there from people who aren't in the "coalition of the willing"... why would they care?

I think your getting the story wrong... try reading it. It might help. It was a military camp with tents... hardly a hotel.
Maybe you should try reading it properly.Vilham wrote:

Ok I wanted to see what all this was about, so I downloaded Google earth. First it's pretty cool but it is dated. I looked up my address and saw some interesting things. First off the car in the driveway was my wifes old car which has since blown up. Next was the two houses on either side of mine were still under construction. So yeah if there using google earth for accurate intel then the insurgents are just getting lucky. I agree with whoever up above said about getting better quality sat images with the right amount of cash, makes sense to me.

OMG I know where you live! Protect your children cuz I'm coming to make a rapes!
bring it big boy, aside from my rottweiler you'll then have to deal with my Glock
I have a G36C, though...... airsoft
I actually sent an email to Google a while ago about this. I asked if they would be kind enough to blur out some areas. Using their program, I sent them a picture of my trailer when in Mosul and explained the potential dangers of having easy access to that. They replied to me stating something along the lines that it wasn't in the areas listed as restricted from the Department of Defense. It included a closing phrase that I thought was sort of sarcastic. It was something like, "We thank you for your concern and wish the best of luck to you." Assholes.

According to all the "experts" on this video game forum, whose only combat is BF2, it is not a big deal.Mike_J wrote:

k lol owned... But in the interview the commander is talking about tents. That means it has been turned into a compound with tents. Why would someone take pics of a military compound??Bertster7 wrote:

I was only joking when I said they were planning to stay at the hotel and it was a coincidence they'd printed out the sat image pages.... it's a bit too much of a stretch even for me
I bet some of the officers were.UON wrote:

Maybe you guys should build a deep underground bunker, bring your family and crazy friends down there, and then voila, safe from "terrorism." And consequently the rest of the world could be safe from you.
God, you make it sound like terrorism happens enough to actually bait it. The statistic doesn't exist, but it has to be less than 0.00001% of vulnerable targets get attacked by terrorists. MUCH less than that statistic. You would set up your sadistic murder nest and then sit there and wait for your entire lifetime.ATG wrote:
Easy enough to use it against them. Google Earth maps are always a few weeks out of date.
So our troops set up a row of tents. A few yards away, a machine gun nest. Gets Google to upload new pix showing weak looking tent area. Haji attacks. Machine guns are waiting with bullets dipped in swine excrement.
You can imagine the rest.
USmarine, you take the bunker, ATG, you sit in your swine excrement nest. Either way, please stop interacting with the peaceful people of the world.
Everything you say indicates that you have powerful delusions about the effects of terrorism. You might as well get down on your kness and keep blowing the terrorists. You realize their insignificant little attacks would have no affect on any % of the world if our government (and the UK) declined to participate in these stupid wild goose chases. As long as there are morons crying about this shit, we will continue massive military spending, while accomplishing literally nothing for our people or anybody else with the resources we have. In other words, so long as you guys eat all this garbage up the way you do, the terrorists accomplish their goals. But usmarine2007 still thinks this is episode 125 of GI joes and that somehow this will culminate in some discrete victory. Please learn about why terrorism happens before you perpetuate what terrorism exists with your foolish solutions. seriously lay off the war movies (cartoons?), u guys are not mature enough to distinguish between real life and fiction.

If you are so high and mighty and above all of us, then why are you here? What do you do to help improve the world and save it from ATG and myself? Let me guess, sit around and smoke pot?
I have seen war my friend...have you? Do not tell me I do not know what is going on. kthx

We have some real pot nazi's on this forum...
Perhaps, Google is working with the military to make FALSE images now? Seems a plausible idea. Set up a bottle neck through google.....
Hitler saw war too. Didnt make him right. Its not a reason why people should listen without some logic behind it and lo and behold I see no logic.usmarine2007 wrote:

Did you read what he said? He said I cannot distinguish real war from a video game.golgoj4 wrote:
