Without the points and awards for both I would pick Bf2, but with the points and awards I would pick Bf2142
Same here, played BF2 today cause server for 2142 was down...2142 kicks ass...better game play me thinks
I dont got 2142 my self, but i've tried it sometimes at my friend, it's a very good game and it got a better awards-system than bf2, but it gets a lot faster boring, thats why bf2>bf2142

I love both Equally, i liked Bf2 for the air fights and pretty much only aircombat, as I beleive 2142 has a far superior ground combat system going, with all the unlocks and faster unlock, its keeps me going, atleast when Im not to busy on my consoles

I like both. I wish they could combine them and play them all at once. like you could jump from Karkand to camp gibralter. That would be GREAT!!!
The Best thing they did in BF2142 is make the jump button the same as the parachute button. Then Zoom on the sniper riffle.

2142 practically forces teamwork and if u have a great server (tactical gamer/bf2s) it owns and the load times are peanuts compared to bf2 and the weapons and gameplay is way more dynamic.
I have both, but I find myself going back to BF2 quite alot. Still to play all the maps on 2142 so I'll hold off on any critisism.
2142 is so boring, BF2 is way better.
I like BF2 for the planes, everything else in 2142 is much better. I see alot more teamplay in 2142 then what i did in BF2. I havnt played BF2 since i got 2142.

First of all, I played BF1942 for a long time and BF2 since release, so I'm not just a 2142 fan. As others have said, 2142 has a much better infantry focus and requires more teamwork. The firefights are far more intense on 2142 64 man servers than on BF2 64 man servers in my experience. Except BF2 IO servers, that is some fun infantry action.
I enjoy being a squad leader and 2142 rewards me much better for my efforts. Rewards my squad much better for obeying orders and working together, too. Love all the maps except Fall of Berlin, hated at least 3 maps on BF2.
So in the end 2142 > BF2 though I really like them both. What would beat 2142? BF1942 with the smoothness of 2142. Who's with me?
EDIT: Forgotten Hope 2 could fufill my dream when it's finally finished. Can't wait!

Bf2 has much better air fighting and choppers, while in 2142 the gunship isnt as great(even tho im a whore at it too)
2142's titan maps all seem pretty damn similar with a couple varying in size, while bf2 has a huge variety. however, swapping between titan and conquest on 2142 helps to lessen the repetitivity of the titan maps. the different characteristics in bf2 maps makes for a diff situtation, so less boredom.
2142's teamwork is much better, and defense is as important as attack, so this takes boredom away when you got a good clan/squad going.
i think i prefer ground fighting in 2142 also, and the game seems so much more balanced.
