It appears some muslim taxi drivers are refusing to give service to some who are carrying alcohal or dogs.
Authorities are trying to get the liscences revoked of drivers who refuse certain passengers.

The way i see it is that if you go to a different country to work you do what your told silly, if it was a christian cabbie in saudi arabia dya think he could refuse people rides, hell no he couldnt, these muslims should learn that if you come to different countries you should live how they do in that country not like your old ways.

chitty's got a point...yes they are a private business and have the right to refuse. So, if I was tanked, needed a lift and got refused, I'd wave a C-note in his face and say "kiss your tip goodbye, mohamed" as I hailed another cab.

Taxi drivers must adhere to the letter of the law and if that states that they are obliged to carry passengers with dogs or animals than they can go fuck themselves and their religious beliefs. Get another job if you're not happy about it.

I've seen white blokes refuse to along people with alcohol into there cabs.

The only reason this has made the news is because they are of the Muslim faith. If they were good ole god fearing christians, atheists or whatever other faith you wouldn't see this coverage MSNBC.

You have that right - the US media is just one big fat fear-mongering spin-machine saturated with references to muslims. It's reminiscent of Nazi era demonisation of Jews (just more clever and subtle).
