I had onboard sound and could use the jacks on the front panel. Then I bought an Audigy 4 and it disables the front panel, have to plug them my headset jacks in the back and swap them out if I want speakers. Really annoying. Get an Altec Lansing headset if you're current one is crap. Only about $30-$40 and the sound is awesome.
