The JSF is a vehicle. The rules say no vehicles. Like pollux said, the weapons on a vehicle do count.smtt686 wrote:

On the subject of vehicle launched weapons, I'd say the GBU-28 "Bunker Buster" or the GPS Guided AGM-154 JSOW. Each weapon holds 24-145 bomblettes that have shaped charges (the 24 bomblettes are Infrared guided to see enemy armor) that are capable of defeating any known armor. In Tom Clancy's book The Bear and the Dragon, a flight of 24 F-16's armed with JSOW's ELIMINATE 800 pieces of Chinese Armor in one strike.

JSOW's, click picture for more info.

But the most effective weapon of all time will always be a Marine and his Rifle.
The Germans have had homing torpedoes since the end of WWII. Although those torpedoes are highly effective, the principle of them isn't that far off. Although there sensors are quite good (except in rough weather, in which they will attack waves) , if a torpedo misses on the first shot, it will rarely hit on the 2nd, as it will be coming in from what is likely a much more difficult angle and plus with the turning radius of a torpedo (huge) it could lose the target in its wake.Fancy_Pollux wrote:
Mk-48 and Mk-48 ADCAP torpedoes can be guided from a submarine by wires attached to the torpedo. They can also use their own active or passive sensors to execute programmed target searches, acquisition and attack procedures. The torpedoes are designed to detonate under the keel of a surface ship, breaking the ship's back and destroying its structural integrity. Both can circle back and try again if they miss.

Plus apparently you missed the thing in the picture that says infrared sensor. Stinger is an infrared weapon. Wouldnt even know? Plus apparently you dont realize how far a 105MM howitzer can fire, even from an airplane.Psycho wrote:
Unstoppable from the ground? Ever hear of AA. I could target that thing with a Stinger long before I would be in range of it - not to mention it wouldn't even know I was locked on until I fired. By then it would be too late.
It's called research my friend... It avoids that foot taste later.

Anti missile defense. Gotta be pretty damn advanced to shoot down another missile.
He wins, well, until we can get permission to put lasers up in space from the UN, then that will be the winner...ts-pulsar wrote:

We don't need permission. We've essentially claimed all of space.Commie Killer wrote:

This is my opinion of the most advanced and useful technological weapon made to this date.

This is a link to the technical specs for this take a look you'll be surprised at how effective it can be!!!
 Precision 10-meter CEP accuracy
Ideal for targets in urban and
complex terrain
 40-kilometer range with
39-caliber cannon
 Accuracy ensures lower collateral
damage
 Greatly reduced logistics
 Fire and Forget
 All weather
 Jam resistant
 Compatible with current and
future 155-mm artillery platforms

that and many other variants of the same principle
Point taken, however, now-a-days it seems like every weapon and it's mother has GPS guidance. I can't wait till individual bullets are GPS guided. LOL.Commie Killer wrote:

I like new and innovative stuff like Cornor Shot and Smart Artillery.

Directed-energy weapon
Later in life, Tesla made some remarkable claims concerning a "teleforce" weapon[45] The press called it a "peace ray" or death ray.[46][47] In total, the components and methods included:[48][49]
1. An apparatus for producing manifestations of energy in free air instead of in a high vacuum as in the past. This, according to Tesla in 1934, was accomplished.
2. A mechanism for generating tremendous electrical force. This, according to Tesla, was also accomplished.
3. A means of intensifying and amplifying the force developed by the second mechanism.
4. A new method for producing a tremendous electrical repelling force. This would be the projector, or gun, of the invention.
Tesla worked on plans for a directed-energy weapon between the early 1900s till the time of his death. In 1937, Tesla composed a treatise entitled "The Art of Projecting Concentrated Non-dispersive Energy through the Natural Media" concerning charged particle beams.

tesla is basically responsible for AC current. He's like Thomas Edison, only smarter, and he didn't steal ideas.
so none of you guys think that the aegis system is badass? that radar is so powerful that if they fix the beam into a focused position it can literally fry all the electronics of ANYTHING....that includes jets. oh and the pilot of said jet will be having really weird looking kids if at all.

I beg to differ. An advanced jet can quite possibly be classed as a weapon. Bombs hurt quite a bit.
