Well I am making a science report about quite some things. I know that a lot of people know something about science.
What does it mean when quarks have a spin of 1/2.
Thanks.

Imagine an arrow attached to a piece of card so that it can spin about it's centre, a bit like a 'twister' game. Imagine you rotate the arrow around and around. Now, when you rotate it all the way around, from the top to the top, a particle with spin 1/2 would not look the same as it did when it started, you would have to rotate it through another full circle to get it back to how it was originally. You can keep spinning it, but you have to spin it twice round the clock to get it back to it's starting state.stef10 wrote:
What do you mean by looking the same. Does it just spin 720 and stop, then does again or what. Actally I have not been teached in this, but our teather said it would be good if we good tell about quarks.
Sad that the only thing my degree in physics comes in for in RL is enllightening kids on the 'netTowelly wrote:
I thank god I won't be doing A-level Physics.

Well I am still in primary school. I actually think, that I understand it. +1
How old are you anyway?stef10 wrote:
I am not going after that prize. I am planning to become an engineer.

No need for apologies, that's cool.stef10 wrote:
OMG. DAMN. Man I am sorry. I could not understand why you thought it was impressive. I am sorry. Tomorrom I will give you karma as an apology. I am embarrassed. But when did you guys learn about quarks.
