No the consensus seams to be a united Ireland if and when the people vote for it.

Its only the blindly (and confused) English patriots who hanker for the power and control which England used to have over the world. Says allot about their personalities if you ask me. Ie small minded small country power crazed. Probably small penis.
Any English person with an ounce of knowledge and common sense knows that it is beneficiary to both Ireland and the UK for Ireland to be united. Its up to us to convince the Minority (in a uk & Ireland context) that their 'heritage' won't be suppressed by their Nationalist Overlords and Rulers muhahahahahaha!!!! *coff* oops that just slipped out.
Hey! I resent that comment about small penis.  I have a small penis (5.5", average being 6") and I'd be quite happy for a united Ireland, if the citizens (of NI, not the whole of the UK) vote for it.  So, you don't have to be hung like a donkey to appreciate the values of a united Ireland.

And now that we've abandoned coal as a major fuel source, can you take Wales too?

When Britain first at Heav'n's command
Arose from out the azure main;
This was the charter of the land,
And guardian angels sang this strain:

Rule, Britannia! Britannia, rule the waves:
Britons never shall be slaves.

The nations not so blest as thee,
Shall in their turns to tyrants fall;
While thou shalt flourish great and free,
The dread and envy of them all.

Rule, Britannia! Britannia, rule the waves:
Britons never shall be slaves.

Still more majestic shalt thou rise,
More dreadful from each foreign stroke;
As the loud blast that tears the skies,
Serves but to root thy native oak.

Rule, Britannia! Britannia, rule the waves:
Britons never shall be slaves.

Thee haughty tyrants ne'er shall tame,
All their attempts to bend thee down
Will but arouse thy generous flame;
But work their woe, and thy renown.

Rule, Britannia! Britannia, rule the waves:
Britons never shall be slaves.

To thee belongs the rural reign;
Thy cities shall with commerce shine;
All thine shall be the subject main,
And every shore it circles thine.

Rule, Britannia! Britannia, rule the waves:
Britons never shall be slaves.

The Muses, still with freedom found,
Shall to thy happy coast repair;
O blest Isle! With matchless beauty crowned,
And manly hearts to guide the fair.

Rule, Britannia! Britannia, rule the waves:
Britons never shall be slaves.

The Soldier's Song

We'll sing a song, a soldier's song,
With cheering rousing chorus,
As round our blazing fires we throng,
The starry heavens o'er us;
Impatient for the coming fight,
And as we wait the morning's light,
Here in the silence of the night,
We'll chant a soldier's song.

Chorus:

Soldiers are we
whose lives are pledged to Ireland;
Some have come
from a land beyond the wave.
Sworn to be free,
No more our ancient sire land
Shall shelter the despot or the slave.
Tonight we man the gap of danger
In Erin's cause, come woe or weal
'Mid cannons' roar and rifles peal,
We'll chant a soldier's song.

In valley green, on towering crag,
Our fathers fought before us,
And conquered 'neath the same old flag
That's proudly floating o'er us.
We're children of a fighting race,
That never yet has known disgrace,
And as we march, the foe to face,
We'll chant a soldier's song.

Chorus

Sons of the Gael! Men of the Pale!
The long watched day is breaking;
The serried ranks of Inisfail
Shall set the Tyrant quaking.
Our camp fires now are burning low;
See in the east a silv'ry glow,
Out yonder waits the Saxon foe,
So chant a soldier's song.

Chorus

Lads it's a thread on unfair taxes being levied on us for water (in Ireland one of the wettest countries on the planet, like taxing Eskimos for snow) by the unelected Gentry of England, not a frigging rugby match.  When the British state wants to levy the same charge on Pensioners as a Family of 6 then I say it's time to tell them to fuck off, be ye Protestant or Catholic!!

What next? the fresh air tax?

Water doesn't quite work like that. The amount of polution human kind has pumped out is huge. You wouldn't want to drink water from a lake or such.

You have to laugh, the wanker says that " Northern Ireland received the highest share of spending in the UK ", maybe something to do with the fact you spent fuck all in the country for over 35 years you wanker, except to keep your army here, and it's supposed to be the dividends of peace. What the fuck do the rates we have always payed out, pay for?  This would never have been passed had the NI Assembly been up and running.. Yet another collective slap in the face to us all..

Stop being so ungrateful.

We might not have spent as much on you as ourselves but then you pay fuck all taxes. On top of that, if the whole of Ireland was anything like the south there'd be no real economy to speak of. You can be bitter that we've kept a few troops over there but thats more to do with keeping you guys from killing eachother, which costs money by the way.

Yeah accept we conquered it in 1179 and they voted to stay part of the UK when we gave them the choice of independance.

Don't even try to compare them.

I used to take the piss out of a protestant friend of mine when they started flying the Israeli flags," good to see you lot are finally admitting that you're occupying a false state!!" he'd be raging.  By the way the above image is from the Falls road Belfast just incase you thought it was in Palestine - if the rain wasn't a give away

The thing that gets right oan ma raspberry ripples is the constant confusion some have between England and the UK. They are not the same thing.
In 1603 King James VI became the first king of Great Britain. He was from the House of Stuart and a Scottish King, descended from Bruce, and son of Mary Queen of Scots. This replaced the house of Tudor and his descendents became the Royal Family.
England did beat Germany in the World cup ( as we are eternally reminded ) but did not beat them in WWII, that was Britain.
A pedantic point maybe but a very important distinction.

Coming from such a low capital base I'd say your performance was pretty average and can be paralleled to countries like Estonia. Your GDP is growing fastest due to the fact it was so dismally low in previous years. Because the UK has such a higher capital base it's not really comparable, you'd need to look at our economy decades ago to see similar growth levels.

Just because an economy is growing doesn't mean it's noteworthy. The UK economy, however, is noteworthy,stable and more influential.

Our GDP (PPP) per capita is over $10,000 higher than that of the UK. Explain that one Einstein. Growth is largely irrelevant I agree. Unemployment is 4.3% as opposed to 5.5% in the UK too.

Note our GDP is 10x higher than yours, but your country has more than 10x less people making it seem like your country is very rich when GDP per capita is looked at.

That table positions the quality in Brazil similar to the quality in Great Britain, which is aload of rubbish, the standard of life for most people in Brazil is appaling and its only the Upper class that live well, and they don't even live that well.

Why doesnt somebody start a seperate poll (Im thinking Cameron here, because everybody knows it'll be 'fair and balanced') asking everyone what the outcome should be. Im too lazy.

David363: 'letting in thousands of illegal immigrants'.....that is the most contradictory statement I have ever read, how can we be just letting them in if they're doing it illegally?
