Well people, where do we go from here? We are in Iraq and looking like...complete assholes. Weakness invites terrorist attacks, and therefor, we seem weaker now than before.
In all the time sinse 9-11 we haven't witnessed an attack on our soil. The borders are open, if Haji wanted to blow shit up here, he would have by now. This best proves that Osama and his friends more or less acted on their own. If there were more of them here and the so called "sleeper cells" existed, something, some kind of attack would have happened.
They are not here. There is no War on Terror.
We are at a serious juncture right now, and the decisions we make as a nation will be dealt with for decades.
The way I see it;
Before we invaded.

If we cut and run.

As I've said before... I'm cool with Iran taking over. You know why?....

Think about it. If we're having trouble with this, you can imagine how much trouble Iran will have. So, if Iran is caught up in trying to run Iraq, it's going to seriously stall their nuclear program because of how much money and effort they will have to put towards maintaining order in Iraq....

Kill two birds with one stone, and at the same time, America can be rid of this bullshit we deal with right now. We can spend money on our own country for once, and maybe, we can even balance the budget.

Yeah, ATG, it can really suck when we get half-assed and fuck things up. Hussein was the crazy little lynch pin that kept Iran out of the useful parts of the Middle East. We (The United States) pulled that lynch pin. That second map may be the consequence of our actions.

It puzzles me that the world major military power suffers from such strategic ineptitude. They may bring Iran practically to the doorstep of Israel. Something I originally imagined the war was designed to prevent. I must say I never foresaw the entire Iran element of the Iraq war at all.

As opposed to before 9/11 when attacks on American soil were like 5-6 a week?

The only reason there aren't attacks on American soil at the moment is because the Americans are providing the Iraqi insurgents a plentiful supply of Americans to attack 5 minutes down the road as opposed to having to travel halfway round the world and risk increased boarder security, the difficulty of arming yourself when you get there etc.

If we change this to how many attacks have we witnessed on Americans, we suddenly see how bad things have become.

There was this plan, in the works for over 13 yrs. developed by some of the best military strategist in the US. It was scrapped by Donald and he made up his own.

Please do not use the ineptitude of this administration as the benchmark for the entire US population. It was slow, but in the end the people spoke. I think the biggest problem the we had was the fear that our opposition to the war was being portrayed as not supporting the troops. Also there was this big lie we were told. This will all come out I'm sure after GW is out of office and unprotected.

Before we were there in force (Iraq war), the only way for them to try to get us out was to influence the American public by getting into the news. What better way than to hit something close to the US's heart than attacking their country?

What we need to do is stop pissing these guys off, and they'll stop attacking us. Listen to their demands. Get military bases out of the countries over there. Stop taking sides in conflicts over there over purely selfish reasons (oil).
