Most of them were wire guided I believe, as you can see the missle re-direct its path in the air.
Plus his 30MM MG, might be 20MM, not sure.

couple things

was that the pilot's view

the machine is really inaccurate by the looks of it

in one scene a tank or sometin was parked under a bridge took the missile like 15 seconds to get there SOO COOL

and dam man it was hovering like right infront of those things in a real fight (come on rebels are pathetic) those choppers would be shot down like nothing

1. Not sure.
2. Looked as if they were firing on the move, not sure. Either way you dont wanna be on the recieving end.
3. Target may have been magnified via the Cobra's many electronics, which may have looked as if the target was close, but it may have really been a few miles.
4. Cobra can fire from ranges exceeding 8 miles (laser Guided hellfire Missle), so get your facts straight. They use flying tactics suitable to the enviroment. Considering Iraqi's have no AA & most cant hit the broad side of a barn, I doubt they have much to worry about. Most vehicles looked empty as well, may have been mopping up.

1. That was from the FLIR, a targeting system. Both the Pilot and Copilot/Gunner are linked into it. Essentially it's the cannon's view.

2. The weapons on the Cobra aren't designed for pinpoint accuracy. The main gun fires in bursts of at least 10 rounds (going up to 120 round bursts) that are designed to blanket an area in fire. A similar principle applies for the Folding Fin Unguided Rockets.

3. Zoomed in view.

4. Marine aviators (The only ones who fly Cobra's) are famous for their CAS (Close air support) Bravery and skill. Since People first started strapping guns onto their planes, Green and Gold Marines (Aviators) have flown through hell and back, going into places other pilots wouldn't dream of to assist their brothers on the ground. That is one of the primary reasons we didn't have nearly as many casualties as we could have during the Marine's "attack in another direction" in Korea. This is the principle the AV-8 Harrier and the F-35B are built along, close air support.

You could tell what missile was used in the upper right of the screen. TOW=Wire Guided. HF=Hellfire=Laser or Radar Guided, depending on the model.

Yea that shot near the start that took 15ish seconds was a long one, you see the little numbers on the bottom middle, I believe that would be metres from target.

As you can see it's only showing 0250, which is the minimum fire distance (if I've got my facts straight) for the wire guided missiles, only explanation is the shot was so long that the distance couldn't be gauged accurately.

Apart from the fact that the video was badass it does worry me that the main cannon isn't actually that accurate all things considered, still, as has been said I should think it's only used when they are sure an area only contains enemies.

Iraq just seems to be a test zone for the American military to make videos and upload to the internet Wooo!
But...is that actually legal or is it breaking some military law? I just find it strange that the military would allow its men and women to upload videos of real combat in their state of the art vehicles to the net.

Its a term for the less developed persons which actually just want to say helicopter specialist. Its just someone who uses it alot. And some people will then say that he ''whores'' it..

So calling someone a chopper whore is just saying someone who uses the chopper too much, according to their own standards. Any chopper whore would say they don't use the chopper enough.

Alright I found a video displaying the Cobra's accuracy with the cannon.
Its graphic but it displays the accuracy.
