Is It Just Me? Or Does 2142 Load Faster?

im just curious because ive come almost completely off of vannila but i played it yesterday and the loading took forever. Then I played 2142 and i was ingame almost instantly.

Also... does the BFHQ in 2142 respond quicker?

MUCH faster... which is kind of bad because i used to get time to go and get a drink with the map loads on bf2:( but oh well, time to get sprinting!

I find that BF2142 loads about 2.5 to 3 times faster than BF2 WITHOUT defrag.

on my 4 gigs it take a good 30 sec to load a map(depends of cours if the server is close to were iam or not

Yes, it does load faster! in bf2 it took FOREVER to verify client data. It was so annoying... paint would dry faster than loading up a game in bf2... in 2142 the loading times are greatly reduced, even on my not-so-great computer with 1gig RAM.

I went back the other day and tried to play some SF. I only needed about 2 hours on SPETZ for my medal. After sitting there loading for about 5 minutes, the map changed and loaded another one. I said sigh, closed it out, and probably wont be bringing my bf2 discs out of the case anytime in the near future.

Yup BF2142 loads faster on a single drive, than BF2 did on my Raptor RAID stripe. Which is a big difference.

The first one is quite slow, but after that it's only a few seconds for me.

I dont know on the first load up of the day it seems about the same on my system but then afterwards when the server changes map then its a hell of alot faster.

yea the faster load is one of my favorite things about BF2142... for some reason my comp hated verifying the client data, i would have to wait at least 3-5 mins for the verifying crap... but in BF2142 it takes less than a min. for me to load and verify... SWEET
