NO - Never.
The first referendum made us loosing so many companies that moved to Ontario, we have already take our toll of those referendums. We have not been able to manage a big project since then. (i.e. electric dams, Montréal surronding bridges and other society advancement) Our economy would so much suffer that we would never recuperate from it. We are basically left with hydro-electricity and aluminum lets keep those ones intact. NO.
Working in he packaging industry, we have customer both in Ontario and in U.S., mostly U.S. & some bits in other provinces. We have deals with american mills and customers and it is not the only company i've worked for that has a simmilar set-up. That is only one economy sector and from there I see so many job lost that I can count them in thousands if the yes wins. We would loose more employers, purchase power and many more aspect of our lives would be affected. The Québec financial debt is so high that it makes no sense to do it. NO
I can't argue with the fact that most of us fear the lost of our language, wow there is what, about 400,000,000 anglophones around us and we are 7,000,000. 57 for 1. Any human born has grown in there mother matrix (sorry missing words here) had heard her as a phoetus, as a kid you master the culture that you grow in, you get marked by that so deeply that it's already a distinction! btw CPHighwind Changing ''ZOOM ZOOM'' to ''VROOM VROOM'' is like translating ''cock-a-dooldo'' (Not sure of this one) for ''cocorico'', it's something like an idiomatic expression it's rarely translatable. I love french, I love to speak it, to read it & to write it even if it's one of the hardest language to master on paper. So yes I agree that this language is for among us if I try to speak french to an anglophone he won't understand me. I'm working every single day speaking almost half of it in english and I don't beleive I am loosing my identity! It's a question of knowing who you realy are and being open minded! NO (it's not a good reason). But I'm normal when I'm french.
For the bunch of clowns that we have as politicains they are not worth more than a bad clwon show. You see them act and you have your answers. To be honest the only one who would have the capabilites of doing it was Mr. René Lévesques, in those days he had even the support of artists that were singing songs, writting and playing. He had created the momentum for that referendum. It did not pass because our elders were too affraid of it. We are still debating this today while we should have moved on and let that behind us decades ago. Our leaders which were the remnants of the heart of the ''parti'' Québecois were sure that they could make it happen. They had not the charisma to lead, we lost the second, another mistake from them beleiving in it! Today making another referendum and losing it again would mean that this ''parti'' is not meant to be, period. They cannot afford to lose it again! Again NO.
But today we would like ot have the fair part of the budget. (There were proofs of retaining some money from us, I will have to researh when this happen though.) We would like to have a fair play and to not have those scandals with the federal. And people still ask me why I have problems with suits! Politicians, lawyers, financials administrators, they are all a bunch of crooks!!! @#Ç*R%¨$# YES.
LT.Victim, regarding that Hong Kong was retunred to China, a lot of chineese people went to the west cost and since I've not heard of it much, how does it goes? The only thing I've heard was about policemen that both of them had to speak different version of chineese (cantonese and madarin), is that true? Are they integrating well?
Turquoise you are absolutely right about our women and they know it!
Tired I'm going to meet Morphée...
