What the passage means, or as I perceive it, is that there will be one currency, credit cards, and you must have the mark of the beast to use or buy anything.

Not necessarily the Euro.

The mark of the beast isn't one currency, it's identification. You can't purchase anything without.

Sort of to give Des.Kmal some leadway here. He could have reworded his orginal post to make it a little clearer with the passage that he was speaking of. The formation of the EU and the use of one currency could be the foundation that leads to the passage that he was speaking about. Most people who study the Bible believe that you have to have one currency before you have the mark of the beast. You do not really have to have one currency, because computers could do the conversion on the fly, but it would be easier if the world had one currency.

@ the guy who said that the Social Security Number was also thought to be the mark of the beast. This is true, but did you know that other people think that the UPC code is part of that system also?

The best way that I can explain it is that the first, middle, and last two thin lines are all equal to 6. Thus giving you 666, and people think that this is part of the system.

Companies would benefit from an RF type chip that is embeded into your hand, or forehead to pay for items you purchuse. It has been rumored for a few years that MasterCard has been working on something like this.
