BF2S Forums How close to BF2 "Retirement" are you?

I'll be playing for quite some time.  Good mods still coming out for BF2 and I actually still enjoy vanilla BF2.  I played 1942 for quite awhile after BF2 came out, so I'll still play BF2 after 2142.

i aint put in that much time really but i just like the tactical permutations u get on big servers with a squad.  its prolly got a lot more longetivity to it that a lot of other games (that i cant be arsed to play or learn) of the same ilk.

no doubt all the peeps who bought 2142 will be back soon lol.  lazer gunz ftl!

You've played quite a many hours, I would probably be growing tired of it too.  I've only played 366 hours.

I love this game and always find new things out about it.  Im not far off 1000 hrs, cant fly but am still learning.  People have argued with me over this but I find no two rounds the same.  Yeah you may get raped until either one of your pilots shoots him down or the pilot pisses off elsewhere but generaly speaking you can always try something different out to the last round.  You also get to meet different players all the time and thus for those reasons mentioned until something better comes out Im going to love playing this game.

Its hypothetical but I wonder how we would feel without the stats.  I dont play for the stats but its good to be able to see where you need to improve etc.

complete lack of squad work had my case gathering dust a long time ago

I may as well sell it,i'm not going to play it again.

I plan on playing for a long time, maybe another year or 2? I'm waiting for the next kickass game, and its definately not 2142 or quake wars. I'd like to play BF2 + mods until they release some title like BF3. I want a new game with the same elements -- capture the flag, vehicles, jets, attack choppers, etc...

That's what I would say if BF3 didn't = BF2142. Man I thought bf2 was getting bad with the bugs but I can't even play 2142 without a crash and when I do get to play I'm amazed at how lame the kits are. I think the kit variety reduction is sorta like what happened to SWG. I haven't played it that much but when I have, I've been unimpressed. Even tho there's no way I'm getting another rank, "I'll continue reaming newbs til it's no longer fun".

I was planning on doing so when reaching Colonel, since the eagle kicks ass on all other officer ranks.

I love BF2, so I have no plans to retire in the near future!!
My current goal is to earn my second Armor medal (should be this evening)... and then I have 7000 points till Major I want to badly to advance to the next rank !!

i have been playing bf2 for nealy 400 hours and its just starting to get fun for me. me and my mate have just joined a squad and improvments are badly needed,so its safe to say that at least another 400 hour ++ is need to make me even remote sick of bf2. its like 1927 said,there are so manny different ways to die and kill and move in bf2 that the possebiletys are almaost endeless. no two rounds are the saem,maybe similar,but deffently not the same!!

i hope people will stick to bf2 for a loong time ahead,i know i will:)
