- What will the verdict of Saddam Hussein mean?
All the Iraqi people will run out into the streets and celebrate the downfall of the vile oppressor that they struggled under and thank each and every one of their British / American liberators and Party nonstop for a week - everyone in America will think Bush is great and the republicans will win with a massive majority.... then Bush will wake up and the reality of the situation will dawn..
It will mean that Iraq will be free from misery, pain, death, persecution, bombings, death squads and prison torture (LOL).
It's really not safe to run out into the streets quite yet... but our troops are working on making that possible!IG-Calibre wrote:

It means that America has a golden opportunity to piss everyone off, and look benevolent at the same time.
We commute his death sentence and send him to live in exile in France.
If the law is followed he will be executed within a few weeks of the sentence. There will be chaos for a while and then life will go on. Perhaps the Sunnis hope in there heart of hearts that he will be restored to power, and that is why they fight.
Maybe they will seek reconciliation.

Saddam was always guaranteed to hang from the outset. I think however that that may make him a martyr. They should led by example and lock him up in some hell hole for life. Killing killers vilifies them some what IMO. It would set a good example to the whole nation, that killing people doesn't solve anything.
How would that make him a martyr? He didn't "support" terrorism from the views of many people on here. All people like saddam should be executed on site.JahManRed wrote:

Ok Ok, from now on I will not assume that you ppl don't actually read different media sources or actually know anything about the middle east. I will explain everything down to the last detail from now on.Miller wrote:

The Sunni Arab's make up the majority of the insurgency. They loved Saddam because, although Sunni Arab's were in the minority a Sunni Arab was leader along with everyone else who held positions of power. Now the Sunni Arab's think they are being left with the Central Western part of Iraqi which is essentially Dessert with no oil in it. If Saddam is executed while being defiant to the end, as he is, then he will become a Martyr to the Sunni's. In a country were everyone is killing everyone, would it not be a good example to everyone if Saddam wasn't killed but chucked in some hell hole jail. Remember, as you Neo Cons frequently cry out, Saddam is heading to 100 virgins bla bla bla, which is a dam sight better than getting bum love from his 20 stone cell mate.

Nothing like demeaning the intelligence of your opponents to sway them to your side.JahManRed wrote:

jahmanRed is hopeless and anything that may work to shed light on his posts will be tried.
Well the first of his 14 trials had the death sentence (1:30am PST). An Appeal will now happen and we'll see what happens next.
Don't execute the prick. Life in solitary confinement.....
Whoa... Can't believe these forums are still kicking.
Like the hole he was found in :-PFlecco wrote:

Perhaps some that were held by Saddam and tortured in various ways could return the favor before executing him. I think he needs to go, then some stupid knob can't pardon him in the future.
I'm sorry if I sound like a pessimist, but this will probably happen.
The terrorists will find yet another excuse to do more attacks.

You thought their excuse for attacks was to do with Saddam? Most of them are perpetrated by those he oppressed - the Shias.Archer wrote:

But now the will.
They twist stories and words well
Sex Drugs And Violence!
It will mean absolutely nothing why don't you concentrate on Nov 7 which can put this country's future at the right hands
It will mean that Saddam is going to end up a couple of inches taller.
