I saw the Nick Berg beheading video a couple of years back by accident at work. Now what I mean by accident is that I walked into a room where someone was watching it and I couldn't turn away. I know this is a brutal thing that is done for a shock and awe purpose by the terrorists, and I just wantted to say that it is truely a disgusting thing.

P.S. I can take alot of stuff but this just really turned my stomach and still even the thought of it still does. If you haven't seen it I would say don't go looking for it.

I have that video too. I also have a video where a huge crowd is bombed by some helicopter and that other one where there's 4-5 people in a truck at night and they get shot to pieces by some big fuckin gun. All equally disgusting and brutal. So what's your point.

I saw it...I did go looking for it and I'm incredibly sorry I made that mistake. It's heinous and sick, but it makes me sad rather than makes me angry. You can't explain to them the error. You only create more if you kill 'em. You just have to cordon them off from us and let them seethe in their own hate.

We made the ultimate mistake in Iraq for numerous reasons, but not the least of which was the belief that we could "fix" things with violence. I'm not a pacifist, but you can't fix angry, poor youths with guns...you simply can't.

Just curious, but was it ever proven that he was actually beheaded as in that video? Not that it matters, but I remember seeing it a couple times and the video was quite jumpy and between the sound and action movements, it seems like it was doctored up and I thought I read people saying it was doctored up to look like he was beheaded live when it was probably done before hand.

Anyway, pretty gruesome. I also think it's pretty stupid to be there in the first place unless you're required to be there. I've always had less compassion for journalists in war zones, same for contractors and other people who go to these places who know the risks. Nick Berg made a foolish choice to be there..same with that WSJ reporter Pearl.

Yeah but Ironchef in warzones is where private contractors make crazy amounts of money for menial work. Contractors and truck drivers can make up to 30k a month as far as I know..

I think by contractors he may have meant "Civilian Contractors", which is basically mercenaries that go in to warzones and do all sorts of crazy shit, such as assassinations, and brutal things that the armed forces are not allowed to do because of the Geneva Convention.

They're services are purchased by the Armed Forces to help them fight the enemy, but other than that can basically do what they want.

Oh, I'm aware of the war profits those guys make. I'm also aware that some of those people are there for noble and genuinely good reasons and I still think less of them for taking such bad risks..unless it's actually secure. The greedy ones can be beheaded for all I care...like these shitheads.

maybe he was killed before and beheaded later by "al quaeda".
the cut was on a main vein, it should have been a big spur, not that.
read the analysis at the net, they analys the video frames, sounds, content and "killing" method....

I watched it because I was curious. I saved it for no reason in particular. I don't see anything wrong with viewing, saving or sharing the videos. The problem is with the people committing the acts. I don't view it like "haw haw, you lost your head, lollllllllllllll." It's a fucked up disgusting act, but it's humanity and because of that it facsinates.
