US Vice-President Dick Cheney has said that insurgents in Iraq have increased their attacks in order to influence the upcoming US mid-term elections. He blamed a recent rise in violence on al-Qaeda and others trying to "break the will of the American people".

All the people in Iraq are thinking in the mid term elections according to a survey by youaredeluded.com.

The funny thing is, Iraqis were thinking in this mid term elections for a lot of years, and that's why they have a 700k dead people toll.

See, what I don't get is how Cheney thinks this would help their cause, even if it had the slightest semblance of being true. What possible benefit do republican senate and congress candidates have because 100 soldiers have died this month and an uncountable iraqi death rate have? How does it help them if there's a spike in violence? Is it to remind voters how scared they should be of being beheaded in their sleep from some turrrrists? Do the republican senate and house have ANY track record at all for keeping us safer? Maybe safer from flag burning, gay marriage and other big issues (not), but not safer from something they've not had a single vote on other than pouring more money into this bottomless pit.

I told people that Terrorist was the new Communist, and that we'd label Govt's we didn't like as Terrorist, so we could overthrow them...

The number of WTC deaths are rapidly being approached by the number of US military deaths in Iraq. Given that Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11 fighting 'terror' there would obviously have little or no effect on terrorism on US soil. Chances are there would not have been any attacks anyway given improved domestic security since the attacks. Therefore Republicans have sacrificed nearly 3000 lives for nothing.

WTF is stopping them now? Do you think the war in Iraq is preventing them from coming to our country? You ARE aware that terrorists weren't even in fucking Iraq until we invaded?

If they are going to attack us, it will be with or without Iraq. Terrorism can't win unless it terrorizes the general population. They are probably laughing at people who say that Iraq is holding them from coming overseas to America.
