Airsoft takes a lot more skill than that, you have to use military strategy to outmaneuver and capture/kill the entire team. It's not simply of being able to shoot, it's when to shoot, not press the trigger as much as possible. Airsoft utilizes large strategies and if MANY of the people whoever tried went to an ACTUAL skirmish, where people show up for a real airsoft battle than many would change their mind. Most places that host airsoft skirmishes are there with over 200 people on a huge acre lot where there are 10-30 squads and you use radios and everything to communicate. Especially those 3 day events.
Mainly in the US, paintball is popular. Anywhere else in the world, airsoft is a lot more popular. In the asian countries especially, you'd get laughed at for wanting to paintball..
Russia is real big on it and so is Europe in general... that is for airsoft...
If you can use your gun effectively FPS doesn't really matter if your just doing backyard wars.
What don't you get about the fact that there is Woods ball where they do the same thing as you?

I admit i have played alot of paintball and worked there for years,and know very little of airsoft.
Paintball is big all over the world,someone mention russia? they have one of the best teams in the world.
I understand that airsoft guns do look real, more so that paintball guns anyday.
300fps is the max a paintball gun is allowed to be set to,think a mask can only take so many shots at close range before its supposed to be changed.
Either way i would be happier sat with a paintball gun over a airsoft one anyday.
But again thats just preference.

Paintball requires alot of gear, and it eats through your wallet fast lol, and it is more fun.
Airsoft is a hella lot cheaper and you can play in someones yard, all you need is a gun, some bb's and a pair of sunglasses and your set. The only problem is that ppl sometimes dont call themselves out when they get hit while in paintball the guy will go AHH or something and you can see the paint splatter on him.

The whole reason paint balling is better is because of the possibility of pain. Its all about not getting shot but taking down other people at the same time. Gives you a massive adrenaline buzz.

By the way, I also am not a big fan of the speedball. That, I think, is not near as tactical, and may be what some people first bring to mind when they think of paintball. Scenario rounds and huge deathmatchs is where it is at.

I don't really prefer Ion's. Nor do I prefer Spyder... Which are the guns around $100-300... Most of the high end guns are modified, and cost about $500... For the good one's that are favored at a local field cost the guys about $750.

I dont give 2 shits what you perfer... those are good guns, and I really don't know how much airsoft cost, but i can bet that pistol isn't "top quality" like a shocker, DM6 DM7, 06 07 ego (the guns that cost 750-1000) plus thats a fucking pistol, it cost 130 for a pistol in paintball, but they're useless and a waste of money
do you use them in airsoft? because I'd rather have a gun (if you ran out of ammo, what does that get you, 15 shots?), and I know guns cost more than pistols, so why dont you tell me how much a nice gun cost... (I know its not as much as a paintball gun, but I'd still like to know.)
Airsoft, your right, the guns look so much cooler and realistic, but I only use em for target practice. Paintball is what its all about.

and btw airsoft can hurt; such as this ICS mp5 it shoot approx 330-340 fps. so if your not going to wear long sleeve shirts you are going to look like that you just got chicken pox at the age of 19.
but seriuosly for the argument that "it takes more skills at airsoft or paintball" you all realize that they all work the same; as in that they all shot a projectile. as a matter of fact i will say that airsoft is at least MORE realistic then paint ball if airsofters use the standard low magazines; 30 "bullets" only. hardcore.
Thats what i shoot. Scenario paintball is 10x more fun than anything in the world. besides sex.
