To even out the supply fluctuations I keep ~5,000 .22 and 5,000 primers at any one time which, isn't really a lot.

I've done both. Bows are a different experience. It's not loud, it doesn't stink, it's inexpensive compared to new ammunition or reloading costs, and people aren't pointing their guns in your direction while trying to clear a jam.lil_droo wrote:

I've been on a walkthrough trail with targets arranged in safe directions. More of a chill activity if you've got a compound bow, since it requires less effort to keep those at a full draw than the absolute workout traditional can turn into if you've got a hefty draw.
AFAIK there's no national shortage of arrows, so people like macbeth who are getting ready for the zombie apocalypse could stock up with a weapon that won't attract a horde.
e: IMO it's more satisfying to land an arrow 20-30 yards downrange than to rifle a bullseye at greater distances. I'm with you on shooting clay though, best time I've had with guns.

I could be patriotic and buy a ready made Lithgow LA105 with a KRG stock - not sure about the stock though yet, I'll have to try it for fit, at least it looks like a long range rifle, not some gear queers AR15 accessory fantasy.
Or could go for a Tikka T3 and get the stock later.
Next question - Old school .308 or 6.5mm and wear the shorter barrel life. I'm going to need to reread the rules on the matches I may want to shoot.

Not really superkeen on the stocks with the cross-bar above the thumb, I think I might make a rifle with a KRG Bravo stock.
Prob a Tikka T3 heavy barrel plus the above stock, a T3 Tactical probably makes more sense but they look a bit too much like a gun-nut rifle.
Most likely in .308 so I can shoot the .308/7.62 matches.

I looked at everything and was thinking about Tikkas but the standard barrel is too light for .308 and the Varmint too front heavy.
