Which is exactly why paranoia and guns don't mix. Some cop shot his kid a few weeks ago because he immediately thought the worst when he heard noises downstairs. Occams razor applies to 'strange noises'.rdx-fx wrote:
Worst story I've heard was a guy went trigger happy in the general direction of a burgler in his home.
Heard something moving in the closet, opened the closet, fired every bullet he had in the pistol into the closet.
Shot his 4 year old daughter, who was up getting a drink of water or using the bathroom, got scared and hid in the closet.
Her last words were, supposedly, "Daddy, I love you".
Know what the fuck you're shooting at, and where every round is going to end up.
Before you pull the trigger.

Not that I doubt you, but source?rdx-fx wrote:

Big ass strip of copper run off all the expensive stuff to a conductive stake planted in the ground and to the water pipes!rdx-fx wrote:
But, if you have a firearm in the house, and you grab it "just in case" when shit goes bump in the night - you may want a plan for using it responsibly. Same goes with the HAM radio operators putting antennae up in the rain, with the lightning plan.
I didn't say they hit up meth labs. They usually ring the doorbell, force their way in, and hold people at gun point demanding money or drugs. Prescription drugs to be exact. Sometimes they catch people off guard when they return home, and occasionally they just kick in the door.Jay wrote:
No I'm not. You proved it yourself when you said that most home invaders are after cash and drugs. Who keeps cash at home besides people that can't deposit it in a bank?ROGUEDD wrote:
You are so wrong. In so many ways.Jay wrote:
A pump shotgun acts in the same way that a burglar alarm does. If the alarm goes off the people robbing your house will probably flee at the first note. The only people that have to worry about home invasions are generally people who have it coming i.e. they are in the drug business or something. Normal people don't have their home broken into with the intent being the death of the owners or kidnapping or something. To state otherwise is just delusional. "I need this gun because of the one in ten billion chance that my home will be broken into, my wife will be raped, and I will be murdered, all unprovoked."

I don't think anybody said otherwise. But home invasions do happen, and with increasing regularity.globefish23 wrote:
I'm quite sure that burglaries outweigh home invasions/robberies by far.
Everywhere on the planet.

You can load either, I think usually the top fires first.Finray wrote:

Why does the SbS need a trigger for each barrel while the O/U needs only one for both?
