so, who makes a good tool for removing the primer crimps you get on some .223 brass?
I use a
Lee Primer Pocket Cleaner on my 223 brass. My brass is mixed, some with crimps, some without. I use the Lee on all of them and only had a couple that wouldn't seat the primer. I just ran the Lee through them again and set the primer without issue. I chuck the Lee cleaner in a drill and hit them quick. So far it's worked well for me, but I don't know exactly how much of the brass was actually crimped.
If my main concern was removing crimps I'd get this (
Hornady Primer Pocket Reamer Tool Small) and chuck it in a drill.
I picked up one of these (
Moto Tool Foot Pedal) for under $8 (they've recently gone up in cost). It should come in handy for prepping rifle brass. I plan to clamp a drill to the bench, and chuck my case trimmer and pocket cleaner in it, not at the same time of course, and run the drill off the pedal. That way I have 2 free hands to chuck the brass in the holder and chamfer/deburr the cases. Should speed up the process considerably.
