When I went to the Sounds of the Underground Tour, we boo'd them off stage and screamed SLAYER!!! the entire time.

Idk why. Slayer wasn't even there.

Shame, nosebleed - I suffered through that when the Foo Fighters came to Wellington, (not a nosebleed, sitting in a lousy sport.)

The Mars Volta are a good Aussie act, but yeah, their music is kind of for an aquired taste. Definatly not mainstream.

They're from the US, I believe, and yes, it's prog rock with a spanish feel. Remember At The Drive-In? Now that's da shiznit!

When it comes gigs, I choose the "calm"-section. Example: We were at a Machine Head club-gig in Helsinki. I was drinking my barley-shake and so was my friend (known on these forums as Ubersturmbannfuhrer). We were both enjoying the show on the upper floor, with a perfect view down to the stage. Our mutual friend decided to storm the moshpit. At a Machine Head gig. Now that had "bad idea" written all over it. The night ended with us taking him to get his jaw+lower teeth rewired at 2am.

Saw the Peppers when they played Sheffield UK it was a fantastic gig.

I think the playlilst was pretty much exactly what they played last night, except Under the Bridge was in there somewhere as well. I'm surprised they didn't play that.

Agreed.

Not comparable with each other.

RHCP plays rock (which is getting poppier day by day - BloodSugarSexMagic = win), as The Mars Volta plays prog. It's like comparing Britney Spears with Cannibal Corpse. Or lemon-pie with grilled beef, for that matter.
