I love manual but funny enough, my current ride is an auto and doesn't have the option for stick (might be selling soon, miss the stick).

Have an automatic, but learnt in a manual. miss it alot; it's alot better. granted, auto is pretty good for traffic...but still Manual anyday. I ticked the bike option though, prefer riding my motorbike over the car all the time...Everyone should get a motorbike

LOL! I get that way too. My manual is in the shop every few weeks for something else breaking (95 with 147k miles).

Honestly driving a manual in traffic doesn't bother me one bit. I find it an enjoyable experience. The only vehicle I will ever buy that isn't a manual will be a truck. Other than that, manual all the way.

the only reason automatic took off in the market is drive through fast food.

I prefer auto myself, I couldn't be arsed to use a manual again.

What clinched it for me was my Mk4 Toyota Supra. The book figures for the twin turbo were 0-60MPH 4.9 seconds for manual shift, 5.1 seconds for automatic. Someone in the UK Supras group pointed out that to get 4.9 seconds in the manual probably required gear changing abilities like the Stig. Whereas the auto could be driven that fast by most people.

Besides, I see manual gearboxes a bit like manual chokes. One day we'll wonder why we ever bothered to do it all by hand.

I prefer my cars manual, but I own a 2000 Ford F-150 XL 7700 truck and you get better hauling capability with an automatic.

Really depends on the truck. If I'm towing a lot, I prefer a manual cause a manual works better for slowing you down than an auto.

Manual for sure, you actually loose horsepower and torque with an automatic (well horsepower to the wheels). The RX-8 is an excellent example of this, the manual transmission has something like 250hp, and the auto only has something like 220hp.

That and manual transmissions usually last longer, give far more control over the vehicle, and in general, are just more fun.
