Try to see the longest amount of time you can go without using the words "liberal, conservative, right/left wing, communist, capitalist, Middle East, Bush" and any abbreviations or variations thereof. My God, they've infected every single topic. I do sincerely hope you all are planning on a career in politics later because otherwise you have used up a valuable amount of time here.

Unfortunately topics that don't include those words do not get read and do not get responded to. A sad fact. Would you like to take about the current political scandal in the Republic of Ireland in the run up to our upcoming general election? Thought not.

I started seeing when I'd last used them with the search by post. Got bored after the first 2. I've differentiated between quoting someone who said lib-word and actually saying it, since there is a 95% chance that the lib-word will be in there somewhere if you quote any lowing post...

lib-word: quoted 2006-09-26 00:54:44, last time I said it 2006-09-01 21:35:20.
con-word: last used in different context on 2006-09-08 01:43:51 (NOTE: context was 'conserv*tive (as in on the low side) estimate'), last used in quote 2006-06-15 13:05:03, in post 2006-04-05 18:05:39

Note how I've sneakily avoided invalidating the dates.

That's not even a good way Nuttah. Searching your posts may include quoted text from others and not necessarily you. I'm just angry since this is a "Debate and Serious Talk" forum instead of "Political Bickering"

CP, I'd love to hear about said current political scandal in the run to your upcoming general election. You spend so much time on the country I am in so why not talk about your own?

You'd need some background on it. Politics here is entrenched back to the 1920s. Kind of clannish based on the civil war from which our independence sprung. I'd need to do some informing first and indoctrinate you into my way of thinking before presenting you with the facts...LOL

Joking man... basically the Taoiseach (essentially the prime minister) has been all over the papers for corruption and accepting shady cash. The election is coming up. The corruption ain't the worst kind in the world (he heads up my choice of party Fianna Fáil, as if you can't you tell) but it is putting the incumbent coalition government in jeopardy which may force an early election. In which case the nightmare scenario of the fucking blueshirts - Fine Gael - getting into power (in a coalition with the Labour party and the Greens) could come to pass. A prospect I do not look forward to...

Fianna Fáil are centre right and they're in coaltion with the Progressive Democrats (whom I deplore - our equivalent of the Neo-cons: but hey - anything but Fine Gael)

Democrat / Liberal = progressive

Republican / Conservative = traditional / white

Muslim = people who like muhammad

Christian = people who like the new testament

Jewish = people who like the old testament

Religious = people who like to think when you die your not really dead
