As for beer, if i'm in a pub i'll always work my way through their ales. otherwise its cheap nasty crates of lager.
I'd type my pc specs out all fancy again but teh mods would remove it. Again.
It's marketed as a premium beer in the UK.aerodynamic wrote:

I know it's not beer, but if you get a chance you should try this
for a fatty you're a serious intellectual lightweight.
I'll drink that stuff in the right environment: at the lake, just to quench my thirst, at a game, etc. But if I want to really enjoy a beer, I'll drink something more complex.11 Bravo wrote:
i love cheap american beer. having been pretty much all over the world i still like the cheap pisswater. maybe i am just white trash at heart without the trailer park, guns, and mullet.

i don't know of any good/widely available blonde beers over here
but i fucking love what i have tasted so far
also why is camm posting average west-country ciders in a beer thread... westons is not a premium/top-class cider, dude
i feel sorry for people that have only tasted strongbow/magners/bulmers... cider is fantastic, when done right

Now I really wanna try some Hoegaadren... it sounds delicious.
i would like to state the only difference i can detect with beers are; some are more beery than others. does that even make sense? i dont know how i would say it.
i find it difficult to drink beery beers.

a cursory check of the wiki to check just what the hell im enjoying so much tells me it's a wheat beer flavoured with orange peel gruit instead of hops. pretty much has me figured out... the hoppier beers i can't really stand. it's very velvet and easy going.

'beery'? are you referring to hops (i.e. roughly the bitterness)? type of beer, e.g. wheat, barley? beer/lager/ale?

surely you can tell the difference in taste between a corona, a john smith and a guinness, right?
basic distinctions, at least...
jebus thanks for the recommendations, i'll hook some up when im next at the off license / liquor store / wine merchant

...
never had a guinness.
the only bitter i've had is timmothy taylor back in 2001 only cos a mate from harrogate was wanking over it and bought me one. tasted a bit fruity is the best i can describe it. Actually had a seirra nevada pale ale about 2 months ago only cos ATG wanks over than and it reminded me of TT.
coronoas are say, less hoppy than something like Grlosch.

yeah you're getting the idea. hops is one way of measuring the beer's taste-range and 'bitterness'.
guinness is a stout, like tucker just posted. taste almost like coffee... very dark and oaty
both corona and grolsch are in the broad categories of pale lagers, but yeah corona is definitely lighter to drink
dunno beer tasting is just the poor man's wine connoisseur, innit? it's nice to try the different varieties. IPA's and blondes are my fave so far, after a few years of drinking around... although the red stripe jamaica lager is pretty good for parties, and i do enjoy a good guinness on a quiet bar/pub night with a football match or something. fills you up almost like a meal.
