Buzerk1. Im not going to explain it again. Just read the post again and I hope you will understand this time.
The game itself is not bad, but EA is the one who's bad. There are bugs, there are things that need to be fixed, but overall I like the game. But I won't give EA money for something that is not finished.

Speelbal.. I've read all the posts and I agree with those that say they will buy the game. Your reason for not buying doesn't add up, most things computer related are 'works in progress', just ask Microsoft.. When you bought XP (assuming you did), did it say finished and fully functional, nope, it just said XP. There have been numerous patches fixes and so on. When you buy a game that's as extensive as bf2, you have to expect the odd glitch.. or two indeed. But it doesn't mean to say it's unworkable.

When you subscribed to this site, has it ever crashed/glitched, if not, I admire the people that put it all together to make it work. If it has crashed/glitched, even for a moment, it means it's a 'work in (continual) progress'

Your right to buy or not to buy is for you to determine, but suggesting a boycott, well, in my honest opinion, just wouldn't work.

You make a stand, don't buy it but make sure you tell EA why

The bottom line is this. Every single game that comes out has bugs. Some are not so bad and some are completely stupid and break the game. The companies that release the game and/or program the game are always pushed to a deadline and many often do not have the time to really make the game bug free. There are just too many systems types out there with random parts to conceive of every single driver issue and/or bug. As for bugs and unbalancing issues within the game these are simply overlooked because of unadequate testing in the alpha or beta stages. Think of every single game that has come out in the last few years. Some of the most popular were laden with bugs and unbalance issues. WoW has put out no less than 20 patches since it started and many were expansions on content. Epic put out about 10 to fix things for UT2004 and also include more maps. Valve has Steam so it on occasion puts out a patch that you barely even notice because it auto patches the game after you login and before you play it. So Battlefield 2 isn't too far off from the norm. It has gain so much popularity over the last few months, more so than I believe EA/Dice had guessed. I think that DICE is working very hard on patches to fix things in the game but I also believe that they are under staffed in this area. They are probably already working on another expansion and so most of their programers have other deadlines to meet. This is a matter of man power and money. EA has little to do with it outside providing the distribution, front end and the massive amount of equipment needed for the game and perhaps a hefty paycheck to DICE for their work.

All you can do is when you see a bug or feel strongly on a balance issue is to type out a descriptive and well thought out post on the official EA forums. Get other people to do the same or even right up a standard letter with all the issue and have all your friends copy and paste that same letter to the forums themselves. The only way to enact change is to show that the change you request is supported by a large number of the community.

Battlefield 2 does have it's bugs and yes these bugs are very annoying at times. Some things like the server browser are completely inept and need to be redone. These are all issues that we need to clearly state to EA/Dice on the Official EA Forums. Do not act like 12 year olds speaking 1337 speak and expect to get anything done. Be mature, calm and descriptive in your forum posts and over time with enough support things will get done.

I hope the patches keep coming as long as they can. I still think that Epic has done a much better job in the patch area but that's a different company so we can only just hang in there and see how things turn out.

Cheers.

LMAO! EA pisses me off very much. I have been an advent MOHAA player for years and they have continuously kept coming out with more and more crappier expansion packs and look at Pacific Assault.... THAT GAME IS A JOKE! EA has a history of releasing good games and completely forgetting about them! After the game is released... Well then that’s it. Off to a new project. It’s unfortunate that EA is probably the best FPS maker, but their lack in customer support is going to hurt them in the long run. They have NO IDEA how much money they would make if they just made another MOHAA style game. Simply, keep the same game play but different maps, that’s it! They need to get their heads out of their asses that “cool special effects” “night vision goggles” and “zip lines” aren’t a must in order to beat the competition *cough*COD*cough* Hmmm I seemed to have turned this into a MOHAA rant but if you look at EA’s past then it was obvious they were going to pull this one on us with BF2. I’m in no way trying to tell people what to do with their money, but hopefully EA reads this message and realize the truth.

Im still waiting for feedback from people who played Special Forces. 1 thing is for sure: If those badges and medals are for real (posted somewhere in this forum)  then they're a joke.

I want all you have to say about Special Forces posted in here. Good and bad things.

But but... but but...if everyone boycott...How can you have feedback?...

Look in the forum plenty of post about the BF2: SF.... but since you are boycotting it... why asking? j/k

So I know if it's worth to boycott.

Come on, get it out of your chess... "Yes I'll buy it too"... you will feel better j/k

From what I read, it's still the same game with the same flaws. I don't see why this should give you more input on boycotting or not. Even EA said the patch that comes with SF is not to fix problems but to allow BF2 et BF2:SF to coexist.

And for sure you will have people flaming about new flaws link to the new guns/options of this new version.

I dunno if this has been added or not, but one bug (and yes it is a bug) i wouldnt  mind see gone (or fixed) is Red Bug - having friendlys show up as Red.
I have no idea why this bug wasnt fixed in the 1.03/1.1 patch. It should've been fixed.

Apparently your boycott didn't work.  You should see how many people have F2000s on some servers.

It's been a while since this post... but I'd just like to say in retrospect, I wish I had boycotted SF because it was the most worthless expansion ever. The only good things was the medic G36. I never play it anymore, BF2 is still the same (although we got a patch soon supposedly), and the next expansions will be 10 dollars. Oh well.

After searching for a bit I'll post in here since there may be some disgruntled players that have ran into this.

So I install SF and afterwards 2 servers in my favorites..highlighted green...load up til it's time to join then I get the "Server only allows unmodded content". After installing SF I made sure to run my patches and I can play on one of my favorites it's a 24/7 Karkand, but the Wake Island ones no go. Anyone found a solution to this or is it ditch SF and reinstall BF2 to get back to what the servers perceive as normal unmodded content?

Wow.... way to revive a somewhat serious idea in a thread with a support question.

Lets see I tried installing SF once before the newest patch came out got frustrated and just wanted to play BF2 so ended up uninstalling everything. Since then I've played BF2 with the newest patch, installed SF then ended up running the patch again to get back up to speed.
