BF2S Forums Will BF2142 Make BF2 more popular?

I wonder if some pimply faced nerd wrote Nintendo Power in the '80s saying "I hate Nintendo for not making their old game as good as the new one, I refuse to buy Mario brothers, until they fix Donkey Kong".

Numbers will slowly fade away, and hardcore bf2 players, and people who can't yet afford the newest game in the franchise will remain. Only in very random cases can a game achieve cult status (fallout, baldur's gate, planescape, 1942) and continue on after many updates and clones. That[s a special place reserved for only the most innovative and interesting games on the market.

So to answer your question; people with emotional investments (stat whores) and kids who can't yet afford 2142 will still be there for you to play with. I personally will play bf2 from time to time, perhaps as nostalgia, but I like games that utilize my new system, and update the franchise.

Who knows i think it will. Some of the "mature gamers" will stay with bf2 but most will probably go to BF2142. I need some Karma give me some give me some. Jrock settle down just a tiny bit.

Are you living in a bubble ? Some dieheart people still play bf 1942 ,and bf vietnam .  You must be new if this is where you draw the line on gaming . Is this your first PC game?  Bf2 is fun I spent 700 + hrs on it , But what if I play a new game does that mean I lost talent? I will be getting 2142 but I will still play bf2.
I will probably alternate days or something because I still play bf2 almost every day. It's a great game and always has been. 1.3 sucked but when I was able to play I still had fun doing it.
2142 will not make bf2 more popular. It will be as good as bf2 so I think allot of people will find themselves doing the same as me... playing both.

I'll stick with BF2 and SF.I'm still going to try 2142 but i like the semi-realism of modern combat and besides,i haven't even begun to medic whore or PKM whore yet.My SPM is gonna skyrocket once i start mastering those kits.
