The Bible
I don't know though. For example one kid asked if he can print something off the internet and use that but she said no. I'm not sure whether or not the bible falls into that category. Is there something else she could be talking about?Jenspm wrote:

Academic essays would be the first thing I can think of off the top of my head.HaiBai wrote:
So, I'm supposed to bring in a piece of nonfiction writing that isn't a book, magazine, or newspaper to my intermediate composition class. I've asked friends what they're bringing in, but they don't know yet. Does anyone have any ideas as to what my teachers are asking for?

seriously though, your teacher is an IRL troll
yeah, that's probably what she's looking forMacbeth wrote:

I don't know about that. She also said that all of us would know what it is within 24 hours, so I think it's something we see or use everyday.Jenspm wrote:

^ more. I'm sure you have written one at least once.
third one down, where it says factor out x^a and x^ab. does not make sense.

"people in ny have a general idea of how to drive. one of the pedals goes forward the other one prevents you from dying"
If two oppositely charged small metal spheres come into contact, will the charges normalize towards 0? One has a charge of 20.8mC and the other -14.12mC.
I don't know if the question is just worded terribly or if it's a "trick".

You can get collective essays from Orwell or David Foster Wallace. Those are the only I can think off from my head.Macbeth wrote:

a kid brought in a wrapper to the muffin he ate that morning and got full points

Hey guys, I could do with some help. I know its fairly simple stuff but I'm just dammed if I can do it at the moment, it melts my mind.
4. [1pt]
Identify each of the following as E-Energy, P-Power, N-Neither. (If the first is E, the second is P, and the rest are N, enter
EPNNNN)
A) horsepower/day
B) kilocalorie
C) joules*seconds
D) kW/hr
E) kilowatt*hour
F) joules/sec

It has been estimated that a person can perform continuous manual labor at a power of 60 Watt for an 8 hour working day. How many gallons of crude oil contain the energy equivalent of the useful physical labor a person can perform in this time period? (Do not enter units, just the number of gallons)
(This one has really confused me as I was sure that I was doing it right when I calculated that the person would generate 480Whr and that going off the book a gallon of crude was equal to 40.47 KWhr so I thought it would be 0.11 or thereabouts).
7. [1pt]
The population of Boulder County in 1995 was roughly 2.500×105. In 2005, it
was more like 3.178×105. Assume (for this question) that the growth rate
has been constant these 10 years, and will continue growing at this same rate
indefinitely. How many years from 2005 will the population double from the 2005
level? (Don't enter units, just the number of years)
(Again this one has confused the hell out of me)
If anyone does decide to help then thanks a lot, if nobody does then I really don't blame you.

For 4 the easiest way to decide what kind of unit it is and see if it matches energy or power. Look up definitions and see if they match through unit conversions or other means. CBA to do it myself but it should be simple.
For 6.. check your units? otherwise seems ok
7 - write an equation, simple algebra
Figure out the slope (2005 pop-1995 pop / 10 years) and then find how many years it would take to grow to 2.5 x 10^5. Add years to 1995.

no... you guys are just retards for not knowing what 'non-fiction' as an umbrella term means.Jenspm wrote:

the bible... as non-fiction? are YOU trolling? the bible is the greatest fiction ever put to paper!
i would have gone for a well-esteemed biography or an annotated bibliography or something.
academic essays as examples of non-fiction, haha...

edit: although... it depends on the context of his course and whether he has covered exponential growth yet...
Anyone good at error propagation? Apparently you just take the partial derivative of the equation and multiply it by each variables individual uncertainty and sum them.
Is this correct? There's plenty on doing simple equations, but more involved ones :s
Thanks

No. Wiki is far more confusing than necessary on higher level mathJenspm wrote:
Not trying to be a dick here, but have you wiki'd it? That's how I got through most of my physics/math classes.
see below
the fuck you need a matrix for uncertainty

can someone good at chem help me balance this?
C18H32O16 + H2O => C12H22O11 + C6H12O6
C18H32O16 + H2O => C12H22O11 + C6H12O6
wouldnt you be better off figuring it out yourself?Gooners wrote:

it's for an assignment in biochemistry, which i'm dropping because i'm no good at chemistry. if i could solve it myself i would, the only reason i need it answered is so my group doesn't suffer, i could care less.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but it is balanced, isn't it?Gooners wrote:
