I'm happy to answer any questions regading what BF2142 was like in Beta 2. Please remember that many things will be changed.

Also, due to the agreement, I can't provide any screenshots. Also bear in mind that I, or any other Beta testers cant play the game now until demo.

1. all of the unlocks can be seen at the ea bf2142 site.
2. Team work is always part of the game, but yes I suppose it is even more important in titan mode.
3. Unlock trees work like this:

there are two trees for each class. Fist you must unlock 3 tools or items that are in the tree, then you can unlock a new gun.
ex.
defibs, then advanced med pack, then smoke nade, then Voss L-AR.

hmm. there are the player ability unlocks. ex. extended sprint, grenades.
Lets see there are 8 unlocks per kit, and there are 4 kits so that is 32 + 8 player abilities. So yeah.

the EA site shows 7 unlocks for assualt, 4 for recon, 5 for engineer and 4 for support

I didn't try it out, but Zeller advanced sniper rifle isnt there.. However, I know it has a red scope (cant see through walls, but makes it easier to spot enemies.

The abilities have to be gotten in order. Its grenade (x2) first, then the sprint improvements, then pistol clip, then extra grenade.

For equipment, none of the Netbats are on the list. Netbats tag targets with red diamonds (so you can see enemies when they run away behind walls), and show extra info, such as kit, vehicle health, etc. Also, all info is shared with squadmates. the specifics of how it works is a bit of a mystery, but I beleive they are tagged when you or a squadmate sees them, and remains that way for about 10-15 seconds.

Assault gets infantry ID.
Enginner gets vehicle ID.
Support gets a camo ID, that picks up spec ops when they activate/deactivate active camo. Very amusing to watch a red diamond try to sneak up towards you.
Spec Ops gets a netbat delay, allowing all targtets to be tagged for longer.

Dont confuse these with the scanenrs, which actively find enemies.

Finally, nowhere on the website does it mention the slots. Each soldier gets one main weapon slot, 2 equipment slots (you can mix items from trees, such as Defibs and Rocket launcher, making yoruself a kind of assault/medic), one netbat slot, one advanced hub slot (for assault), and one squad leader item. Don't think that by unlocking all 6 pieces of equipment you'll be a super soldier.

the EA site shows 7 unlocks for assualt, 4 for recon, 5 for engineer and 4 for support
Each kit has 2 trees of 4 unlocks. You must unlock 3 pieces of equipment to get the weapon at the top of the tree, for example, the assault trees are:

1. Baur H-AR
Underbarrel Rocket Launcher
Netbat Infantry ID
Underbarrel Shotgun

2. Voss L-AR
Smoke Grenade
Advanced Med Hub
Defibrillators

The missing ones, using the EA wesbite, are:

Assault: Netbat Infantry ID
Recon: Zeller Sniper Rifle, Sniper rifle stabiliser, Netbat Fade ID, +1 which I cant remember.
Engineer: Netbat Vehicle ID, Advanced Wrench (repairs other vehicles while in a vehicle like BF2), Defuser (defuses mines like the BF2 wrench does, but from a distance)
Support: A12 enforcer stationary turret, infantry dectector (didnt work in beta, but was supposed to be able to scan through walls), Netbat Camo ID, +1 which i cant remember.

I noticed no teamwork in the titan if you ask me... oh well.

I also think that the recon branch was pretty boring..but who knows.

As a small addition, you get 5 ability unlocks and 3 squadleader unlocks (that was called 8 abilities in this thread). The abilities are small enhancements for every class. The squadleader unlocks are only useable for squadleaders. On top of that, you can only use the higher unlocks (like the sentry drone) if you have a certain sized squad.

Sentry drones really sucked in the Beta. The Otus, the UAV drone, had a tiny range (think the Recon choppers, but smaller), and didnt work 90% of the time (due to it being gltiched). The Accipiter, the attack drone, had a really short range and would try to shoot through walls.

I got a question:

In a video, the guys were talking about career points, which you get in a round for using teamwork with the squad. He says these points unlocks equipment temporairy so that it's like a preview of the weapon.

I wanna know how the career points work. Getting a certain amount unlocks an equipment or what?

just a real quick question. am i the only person who played the beta using multiple soldiers in order to try every unlock?

i would climb up one branch of a particular tree, then quit that soldier and start a new one. did anybody else do that?

btw, the way it works now, you have an acc name, and you get up to four soldiers per name.

Okay; do you think it's better to get the general upgrades first, like grenades, speed, pistol clip etc or to specialise in one kit to try and get the top upgrades first?

they're kinda wierd. first you take your base global score. that becomes your career points, too. then, whenever you get an award, you get so many points for it. for example, five kills in a row will give you 20 career points (that has to be done without a death). and getting a basic badge is another 20, and a vet badge is 500, and an expert is 1000 (those numbers are only confirmed with knife, unless somebody can correct/confirm me).

so lets say you have 1000 global score, five combat effieciency pins (5 kills in a row), and expert knife. that gives you 2600 career points, assuming all my numbers are correct.
